What a smoking rad hotel which included a tasty Japanese breakfast I will stay at this awesome hotel the moment I fly back into AOMORI ! The ski bus was a 6 minute walk and boy oh boy what an adventure. The best powder skiing in the world is only 60 min away via JR bus !! The moment I checked in I knew I was at the right place. The crew at the front desk were so hospitable and they were so kind that here on out I will be ruined by the way we are treated back at home

The location is very good, a few steps north of the east exit of Ikebukuro Station, but it was a bit difficult to find it at first because it was in a small alley. There are two FamilyMart and one 711 near the hotel, which is very convenient for buying breakfast, daily necessities, snacks and more. There are many restaurants and izakayas nearby, all of which are Japanese-style. As long as you are not timid, go and eat there. If you want to eat Chinese food or chain restaurants, walk a few steps to the Ichibukuro west exit area. If you want to eat better, go to Tobu Seibu.

Stayed a few days after opening a year ago. 2019/10/4 It was a new hotel that was newly opened and was fresh without staying at a hotel that had not been opened so far at that time. It is a little walk from mukaihara station of Ikebukuro station and Arakawa line, but it is convenient because you can walk from the hotel to sunshine city. This 14-story hotel has a coin laundry (3 washing machines below and 3 dryers above) and a beverage vending machine, but there is no large communal bath. Light meals (bread and drinks) are sold at the cafe on the first floor in the morning. The elevator is arranged face-to-face in two interlocking units, made by a new and beautiful Mitsubishi. When boarding from the 1st floor, hold the card key and press the ↑ button while blinking. The interior of the guest room was simple and beautiful because it was just opened. Wi-Fi has a common ID and individual items for each guest room. Both are displayed on the TV screen, but individual objects are displayed on the screen of the mirroring explanation and are difficult to understand. (I tried mirroring, but I couldn't do it after all) Because there is an existing hotel ”Hotel Wing International Ikebukuro” (1989/11 Completion →2000/8 Opening) in the neighborhood that does not have ”select”, I don't think there are many, but be careful of the mistakes. If you walk straight from Mukaihara Station on the Arakawa Line, you will see the hotel first. It is only a little far away, but it is within walking distance from Higashi Ikebukuro 4-chome station of the same Arakawa line and Higashi Ikebukuro station of Yurakucho line.

I chose this hotel because it is near Oyama, an area I lived part-time in during the early 1990s. So I came back to see it thirty years later. The hotel is a typical understated business hotel. Check in was easy and my room on the fourth floor is fine. It’s not large and is most comfortable for solo travelers. The location is near the highway and there is a bit of noise, but I slept well and didn’t notice it. The view out my window is the wall of the neighboring building. Perfect because it is quieter than those that may be fronting the highway. Shower is warm, bed is comfortable, and my floor is quiet. And the cost is quite reasonable for Tokyo. Visitors to Japan may prefer to stay in the more touristy areas, but for people who know their way around Tokyo, this is an inexpensive, yet comfortable place to stay for business in the area beyond Ikebukuro. I enjoyed my stay.

I stayed at the Ohedo for a single night. The hotel is very good for a short stay. The rooms are pretty small but it’s understandable since its location is in Tokyo. The staff are quite friendly. They also offer breakfast in the morning. You can ask for seconds on coffee, bread (western breakfast), rice (eastern breakfast). It was delicious and good quality. Overall the property is no frills and straight forward. However, it is clean, quiet and convenient. Ikebukuro train station is very near. There are also many restaurants and shops in close proximity.

You can get a bottle of water for free. There is an outlet and a light switch at the bedside. The corridors on each floor are also bright and clean. The desk is large enough for PC work. It seems that the water field in the room has been renovated recently. The water pressure in the shower is very strong. ◯ Bad points The staff is low in terms of language. The room has been renewed, such as wallpaper, and the smell of years is soaked. Some women may not be good at it. The wallpaper is a little dirty, but there are some things that stand out. The basement of the building is a sex shop. The temperature of the dry sauna is low, so it is not popular, and there is a line in the steam sauna. I stayed for 7 nights on way to see family in OZ from the UK, my reason for choosing Sakura Ikebukuro was that I was stopping off to see my daughter who is doing a year at nearby Rikkyo University. The first thing is to say that there were very helpful reception staff who spoke good English. It's on a reasonably quiet street (for Tokyo). I stayed in a single room, there was a sign in the lobby that no visitors are allowed in rooms. I have no experience of Japanese hotels and was told they are generally very small, but this was fine, the bed was probably a small double, so generous for one. There was no cupboard space but some hooks on the wall to hang clothes, but that wasn't an issue for me. Below the window was a large shelf (with TV that I didn't use) and sockets to recharge my devices. There was an ensuite and the shower was over a small bath but plenty of hot water and good pressure. I took the breakfast option in the cafe across the road that was cheap but basic, thick white toast with butter and jam and coffee. You could buy yourself an extra boiled egg if you wanted one. I think my rating overall was a 4.5 but as that's not an option I've gone for the full 5 on the basis of how friendly and helpful the staff were. Overall good value for money for the single traveller.
