Beachway is not in any way luxurious, but it is a good country town motel with very reasonable room rates. Ulverstone is not a big town, so pretty much everything is close. The town centre is within easy reach of Beachway. The parking is easy and safe. Reception is efficient. The room are clean and comfortable. The wall heater did not work in my room but, upon reporting this, the helpful receptionist immediately fetched a portable heater, which worked fine. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A basic continental breakfast is included in the room cost. I stayed two nights, and had dinner in the restaurant once. The menu offers many choices, which made me a bit suspicious that perhaps some things are pre-made and frozen, but my meal was clearly freshly made with fresh ingredient. It was delicious. But the star attraction of this motel is the staff. Mind you, there aren't that many of them! The Receptionist - a young man - appears to work there 24/7! He serves breakfast and dinner, and overseas checks-in-and-out in between. The cook is also busy. Both are friendly and helpful. There are nice gardens and a pool.

Ideal for business and sightseeing alone. Breakfast was ok. The price was reasonable and the cost performance was perfect.

I expected more from the hotel given the photos posted in Trip Advisor. But overall, the disappointment turned into delight as the service was good, and the staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. It is still outdated and could use some sprucing up but functionally, everything works. The rooms were cleaned properly. They offer free laundry facilities although you need to buy your own washing powder for $1.00. 😆 The breakfast was tasty especially the bacon and sausage. We also had dinner the night we arrived and apart from the Thai beef salad having overcooked beef which made it chewy, the rest of our meals were great.

We were isolated by the government at the Sunrise due to corona virus, so it wasn't a normal stay for us. But we had such a great experience there, I wanted to leave a review. Our room was great!! Very spacious and comfortable with plenty of light. We also had a small kitchenette with everything you'd need for a short stay. Wi-Fi worked great, even with the higher demand of bored isolaters! All the staff were really friendly, especially Helen who always made some time to chat with us, despite all her work. They even went to the extra effort of going out each day to get things for us from the shops. Once we are all able to travel freely again, I highly recommend the Sunrise for your time in NW Tasmania.

Stayed at the Novotel for a night before my trip on the Spirit of Tasmania ferry. From the moment you step into the lobby the hotel is clean and modern. Check in was a breeze even though I got to the hotel earlier than the usual 2 pm check in time. Managed to secure parking onsite but be aware parking is very limited. Check in staff were very polite and friendly. The room ( king room on level 5 ) was very clean and modern also. Had a view of the mountains and the river which was a bonus. The bed was very comfortable and the room was well sound proofed and had a great nights sleep. The buffet breakfast in the morning was delicious and breakfast staff were friendly and attentive Would definitely recommend staying here and I would choose to stay here again when I’m next in Devonport
