Venice City Center Venice|0.1km from La Bottega del Tartufo
My husband and I stayed here in May, we had the worst experience ever! We were given the room right next to the lobby. As the receptionist was explaining to us how to open the door to our room, I noticed there was a huge gap at the bottom of the room door ( between door and floor) . I told the receptionist that the gap was an issue because of the noise and lack of privacy , especially since the entrance to our room was in the lobby. She assured me that there wouldn't be any noise after 8 PM because thats the time the lobby closed. I told her this room wouldn't work for us because of the lack of privacy ( anyone in the lobby would be able to hear us) and that we would like to stay in a different room. She proceeded to tell us that all rooms were booked and accounted for ( which was untrue because we were relatively early for check-in and we witnessed at least 3 other couples checking in). After expressing my dissatisfaction, I figured I would try to make the best of it and enjoy Venice; however when trying to turn the TV on-to check out the weather and distract myself a bit from the issues - the TV did not work at all, I went next door and complained about the TV not working. The receptionist said the TV had broken two weeks ago and it would be fixed in a couple of weeks ( not even a sorry!) . The bathroom was tiny, unclean, and we had to walk through an unfinished closet to get to it. At the end of the evening when my husband and I got back from a night out we realized there were only a few squares of toilet paper left in the bathroom, at that point the receptionist was gone and toilet paper was nowhere to be found. I looked all over our room and around the reception area, finally found a small toilet behind the reception area, so had to take a roll of toilet paper from there. Oh boy, we would have been in trouble the following morning without TP! We had to ask for packets of instant coffee every morning because that is all they provided in the room, and they only gave us one ( the day we got there). To top it off , we had to put the kettle in the floor to plug it in and use it!! There were no outlets on the counter. Our room was not cleaned. We were cold at night. It was raining and cold and we had no access to heat. When we complained, the attendant said no hotels in Venice had functioning heaters after May 1st. It was a rule. We had a cold couple of nights....brrrrr. Lastly, on checkout, we did speak to the manager, who assured us we would be refunded 100 Euros for all our troubles. He told us to e-mail him our bank account info and he would personally take care of the refund. We trusted him but didn't hear back or get a response to the e-mails I sent ( mind you, I had him confirm he received my e-mail before we left the lobby). When we got back to the States a week and a half later, I spoke to the manager again, he asked me to re-send my e-mail with bank info and he would refund us the 100 Euros. Nothing.....called again two wee

Didn’t stay here but had a meal at lunch time. The spaghetti bolognese was incredible and very reasonably priced! It was away from the busy streets and was a lovely atmosphere. The inside was a little bit dated but would definitely recommend.

We arrived and were cordially received by the proprietor. The room was spacious, clean, attractive, and overlooked a canal. There is a tv and electric kettle. The bathroom had plenty of towels. Each day the room was cleaned and fresh towels supplied. It is very centrally located, 5 minute walk to Rialto. There are lots of places for dining near by. Directly next to the hotel is Farini, which is filled with people all day, for breakfast (a vast assortment of cornetti) and lunch and dinner. My family liked breakfast there, but a quick lunch and dinner are great there. This was a great place for a stay. We'd definitely stay there again. It was excellent value.

Went for fine dining experience after seeing the hotel on a gondola ride and loving the outdoor seating. The restaurant outdoor seating is beautiful, and set right on the grand canal therefore a lonely atmosphere to eat a nice meal in. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helped us choose the wine with expert knowledge of the local grapes and varieties. The food was absolutely delicious but on the very pricey side. Nice as a treat.

Charming Palace Corte del Teatro

Please do yourself a favor and book elsewhere, this Charming Palace is a disaster. Here is my story. I booked a trip to Venice for my wife’s birthday. I chose this particular hotel because it’s located near Realto bridge, which is where we wanted to be. My wife has mobility issues and we needed that specific location. Additionally, we booked this place because it has a full kitchen which we were going to use because of the aforementioned mobility issues, as well as two bedrooms and canal views, and on the quiet street. The evening before our check-in we received a message from Maurizio, the owner, telling us that there is an issue with the boiler, and he will host us in a “better structure” at another hotel. I sent a message to Maurizio asking whether the hotel also has canal views, and Maurizio did not respond. Long story short, on arrival we were met by a lady who walked us to a different hotel. The hotel was almost 1km away from the Realto bridge, and again, my wife has mobility issues, so for us that was a big deal. Then the hotel did not have water views, it was above a very noisy restaurant where you could see people heads out of the window, and noisy from 8am until 11pm. Obviously no water views, there was no full kitchen, no second bedroom, there were 3 other neighboring rooms on the floor and a noisy common area, the shower was pressure was low, the water from the shower was leaking all over the bathroom and into the corridor because the shower door was not installed, and the whole Venice experience turned into a disaster. I did not reach out to Maurizio during my 2 night stay because we were not willing to move to another hotel even if he offered, due to my wife’s mobility issues, and really because we should not have been placed in that “better structure” from the very beginning. Upon my checkout, I reached out to Maurizio to work out a partial refund, because the place that he put me in was much worse that what I booked, and I am sure it was much, much cheaper too. But Maurizio refused a refund saying that I should have reach out to him sooner, and that it was unfair from my end to request refund upon check out, to which I responded that it was unfair to put me in a terrible room without the views of the canals, on the outskirts of Venice, on top of the restaurant, without working shower, without working AC, and call it a better structure. Needless to say, there are many places in Venice that you can stay in, and AVOID this place at all costs. If you already booked it, cancel it, run away from here. I normally don’t write reviews, but this place deserves 0 stars. I am working with my travel provider to refund me the trip expense, if that doesn’t work I will deal with my credit card to dispute the charge. I am also going to work with Chase / Expedia travel website to file an official complaint, and will attempt to do everything possible to delist this place from those travel websites so that other people don’t end up in the same si
