They sent me the location in advance, and someone was there to pick me up when I arrived. Check-in was very quick, and someone helped me with my luggage. The breakfast was exquisite. Every little detail showed how much care the owners put into the place. The front is a bookstore, and the back is the accommodation. You step right out onto the old street, which is both quiet and convenient. The ancient city wall is beautiful.

This hotel is quite charming—it’s a large, old house that has been nicely converted into several hotel rooms. Our room was very comfortable. However, a heads-up regarding the bathroom: there was no door on the toilet area, and the shower was an all-glass enclosure. Since I was traveling with my husband, it wasn't an issue for us, but if you are traveling with friends, you might want to be aware of this lack of privacy. The location is excellent! It’s right next to the City Wall and super close to several great restaurants and cool bars. We also liked the service; the staff were quite attentive. One thing I found confusing, though, was that they didn't register my address as per the usual government standard for foreign guests, which most hotels in China follow. As for cleanliness, it was standard for China—there were a few stray hairs in parts of the room (usually women's hair), but I find this happens in practically any hotel here. Overall, it was a good stay!

This is a guesthouse in the Xizha Scenic Area. It's at the end of a narrow alley, so I couldn't find it on my own. But the staff at the hostel kindly called and asked for the hotel, and I was able to find it. The hotel staff were very friendly. The room has a lovely atmosphere, and it's perfect for exploring the ancient town late at night or early in the morning. The air conditioning was weak, so it was a little cold.

I booked the Night Cherry Blossom Family Suite, which has one double bed and one single bed, suitable for children. There's a courtyard outside where you can sit and have afternoon tea or simply relax. It's a converted old house, decorated in a classic style, and includes a guzheng (unfortunately, I can't play it 🤣); there are also calligraphy and paintings, and calligraphy practice books available for copying. Just outside is a covered walkway with a restaurant (since the hotel only serves breakfast, you have to eat lunch in the scenic area; there are restaurants diagonally opposite). You can get takeout from the restaurant and eat in the courtyard. Overall, it was a good experience.

Super fun! This was one of the theme hotels that were hidden on the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street set. Appropriately, the Rosslyn Hotels' brand icon is the Landlady from Kungfu Hustle. Upon arrival, you check in at the North Gate's Tourist Services Desk. The concierge welcomed me with a complimentary bag of fresh fruit and asking me to add their butler (Housekeeper Xiao Xiao) to my WeChat. If I needed anything, I just had to text the Housekeeper Xiao Xiao (who was super helpful with all my questions (in English) during my stay). Then the bellhop whisked me away, via golf cart, to my hotel. There were several hidden hotels, with different themes, throughout the set. The bellhop took me through an unassuming door among into what looked like an empty set, and up an elevator to the room floors. The walkway offered a lovely view of the Ming Qing Palace set next door. The rooms were supposed to be themed as Guangzhou and Hong Kong in the 70s and 80s, but could easily pass for old Shanghai. The room was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable, the shower has nice and hot and with fantastic water pressure. The room has some of the largest closet space that I have seen in any hotel. The WiFi worked without the need to register a local cellphone number (I've found that many other hotels, in China, offered free WiFi, but you need to verify with an ID code text to you. The texts never come through to my U.S. phone number, so I have never been able to take advantage of free WiFi; that is until I got to this hotel.) The little details were delightful surprises around every corner. They always refer to guests as ”laoshi” (an honorific of teacher, or master, bestowed to actors) or as ”starlet”. Not gonna lie, I really wanted to take home the pair of the room's bone china cups. The stay also comes with very decent breakfast buffet that had both Chinese and western dishes. They will even make you fresh wontons and noodle soups to order. The restaurants in the park are not great and quite expensive by China's standard. I recommend loading up at the more tasty free breakfast to power through the day. The hotel's location was very convenient for touring Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street; which had very lively evening shows. (As you walk through the streets, look at the stores' signs and test your TV shows and movie knowledge by finding the Easter eggs.) The Qing Ming Palace Set is across the street from the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street's South Gateon the other side of the park (don't worry, it's not that far). To access the other sets, you can take their shuttle, but it does not come around very often. It's more efficient to get a Didi. Overall, it was a magical stay of being in the movies.

Finally, I stayed here on my own. I'd always booked for clients before, but this time, I brought a friend along to experience a river-view room in the heart of Xitang. It was worth the trip. We also saw the flower boats. There weren't many, only six, but they were perfect for the setting. Interlude: I asked the landlady to borrow two beautiful fire goblets, and then my friend dropped them on the floor. The first thing the landlady asked was if we had any scratches, and she didn't ask for compensation.

The inn's interior is exquisitely landscaped, with a deep, well-arranged courtyard; the entire old house has a wonderful atmosphere! The staff are incredibly warm and friendly, providing excellent service in every way. They respond quickly and proactively to any questions from guests, and their hospitality makes chatting with them feel very relaxing and welcoming. The views from the rooms at Yishui Pavilion are also fantastic; you can see the lake from your bed, with its shimmering water, swaying willow branches, and passing boats. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay and enjoy the river view! There's so much to appreciate in the house; I feel like I'd love to come back and experience it more! The inn's homemade traditional plum juice is also delicious. (P.S. There are also adorable cats inside!)

The room environment is great, there are lounge chairs and coffee tables on the balcony. The location is in the Linhe Room in Renchang Sauce Park, where you can visit the cultural display of the sauce garden. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was flat, and the sheets were covered with fresh taste; The balcony can see the river view, the willows are low, opposite the ancient stage and the Chenghuang Palace, and the water pavilion bridge. The front desk is warm and efficient, patiently answering questions; The whole check-in process is smooth, the environment and service are as comfortable as home, you can hear the song of the ostrich when you live here, you can relax, it is highly recommended, and you will choose here next time. Full score evaluation, all aspects exceeded expectations, the experience was great. Thanks to the store for upgrading my room type, there is a simple breakfast, because the breakfast at the nearby shops is late, it is still very convenient. Give a small bottle of Renchang soy sauce and take it back to taste! Although it is not perfect, it is very cost-effective

The front desk staff were super friendly and even gave us a free room upgrade. They even called us beforehand to give directions and help us find the place easily. The hygiene was great, and the environment was lovely, right next to a scenic area. The lobby had various play zones, and the kids were so excited to see mahjong for the first time. For just over 100 RMB a night, it's incredibly good value for money!

TTanxinZoneMy first trip to Wuzhen in 2026 is over, and Shuixiangyi was definitely my top choice. It's especially suited for those who prefer peace and quiet, particularly in the morning when there are fewer people – it's really comfortable. It's very close to Lingshui Residence, making it super convenient for the New Year's Eve event, and a quick stroll to enjoy a drink at Sisui Nianhua. The main highlight is the official hotel service – absolutely impeccable! Everyone was so enthusiastic, proactively helping with luggage to and from the room, and providing all sorts of explanations along the way to my room. I had a wonderful time. See you again at the October Theatre Festival!

XXiaojurenThe homestay I stayed at this time was super warm, the proprietress was very kind and enthusiastic, and the dishes were also superb. Every meal we had after going to the island was arranged by the proprietress herself. Staying in Qiju made people feel like ”homecoming”. The traffic on the island is not convenient, the proprietress will also enthusiastically help with the car, the price is reasonable, let our travel worry and effort. The location of the homestay is also very good, facing the sea, you can see Dawang Beach not far from the balcony, and it takes 20 minutes to walk from the wonders of the mountains and seas. Gouqi Island will continue to choose 257 Qiju in the future.

MMiyangdejiyiThe location is fantastic, just a 10-15 minute stroll from Dongzha, Xizha, and Nanzha. The surrounding area is bustling with plenty of restaurants, breakfast spots, coffee shops, pharmacies, small supermarkets, and even massage spas – really convenient! The hotel reception also offers free stamps of Wuzhen attractions, which is a nice touch. To be honest, I'd never stayed in a guesthouse before, having only experienced 2-5 star hotels for business and leisure. Given that I have no guesthouse comparisons, and considering the price of just over a hundred yuan a night, here’s my review: First, soundproofing: The sound insulation between rooms and between the hallway and rooms is comparable to a standard hotel. Occasionally, I'd hear cars passing outside, but it wasn't overly noisy or disturbing. Cleanliness: The bedding was very clean, and as someone with sensitive skin, I had no issues during my three-night stay. The bathroom was also good, even providing disposable toilet seat covers, which is more comprehensive than most hotels! Service attitude: Overall, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Daily cleaning was prompt. Knowing I was from the north, they reminded me to turn on the air conditioning upon entering the room, but early spring in Jiangnan was surprisingly cold, so I ended up asking for a second duvet on the second day. Facilities: While it's only a bit over a hundred yuan a night, and considering the accommodation quality, I shouldn't really nitpick, but I do want to mention one minor drawback: there was no place to hang clothes in the bathroom. 😥

GGuest UserWhen I arrived in the evening, the boss upgraded my room for free. The room was very clean, which I was very grateful for. Disposable items were provided on demand. There was a commercial street downstairs and it was very close to the Cross Harbor Pier, which made it convenient for me to experience the cruise bus. In short, the travel experience was very good and the living experience was also very good. I will choose this place again next time I come. I wish the boss good luck!

BBella_shPretty good! Staying at a hotel under the scenic area’s umbrella gets you an exclusive benefits package, including discounted tickets, which is a great deal and I really like it. The breakfast at this place is very convenient. Honestly, if you're staying around here, it's best to include breakfast, especially when traveling with elderly people and children who might find it inconvenient to get up early. This hotel is uniformly managed, and the staff's attitude is excellent.

GGuest UserThe room is big but unfortunately lack a bit of natural light and is not very well isolated from the outside balcony : you will need to use the heater in winter! The desk service is really helpful even though I recommend to speak a bit of Chinese as they don’t speak English. If you want to enjoy the lake, it’s ideally located as you arrive in the lakeside in 5min. However, it’s pretty isolated from the city, which can cause trouble when you want to eat dinner in the evening…
