"The hotel is close to train station, but need to walk for around 20 mins to city centre, we think it’s totally fine especially when the weather is good, and the staff recommended us to walk along the river side which is a good idea. The room is very clean, tidy and modern. There is free water, tea and coffee in a pantry near the reception but the reception and pantry will be closed at 11pm everyday. Last but not least, I would like to thanks the staff (a middle age lady) who recommended us a very decent restaurant nearby to conclude our last night in Belgium when we asked for her recommendation. We will definitely choose this hotel again if we visit Ghent again in the future."

"Sint Niklaas was going thru a process of major road and town works. Confusing one-way systems at play gave me a flat tyre reversing back around the right way and hitting a bunch of stones popping out the ground near the kerb. I think it would be nice to return once the town face-lift is complete... 🤔 Ibis, I thought you'd be better than that. €20 deposit for a kettle and no milk, coffee, tea, or sugar in your room on arrival.. 😒 The ladies working there were lovely enough to give my gf & I a smile 🥰 they know where to park and at what times to pay the machines at the car parks 🤓 Cheap and fairly cheerful but also stressful to load and unload. 🤕"

"I booked a 3-night stay at the Ghent Marriott through Ctrip, checking in from May 11th to May 14th local time. My actual experience was really great. The hotel's design is quite cozy, and the lobby lounge has a high ceiling, making it feel airy and grand. I especially want to mention that when I checked in on the afternoon of May 11th, a bearded gentleman at the front desk warmly welcomed me and helped me with my luggage to my room. That evening, after having a drink at the lobby lounge, I accidentally left my credit card behind. He personally brought it to my room. I hadn't even realized I'd forgotten it, so I was really surprised 😲 and delighted that he remembered my room number. On May 14th (Thursday), my check-out day, I had a flight to catch, but breakfast on that holiday started at 7 AM. When the front desk found out, they helped me coordinate with the restaurant to have an early breakfast. I think both of these small details were really touching. I left a thank-you note and a tip for the bearded gentleman at the front desk since our shifts didn't overlap. The service was excellent, highly recommended!"

"I arrived (too early) and received a brief, unfriendlihk and strong answer to my question. After that day, I asked if we could order breakfast. The friendly young man answered ”yes, it can still”, but I went to check if we were able to take breakfast with it (my daughter had to go early to the 200m tower). When I went to check this, I received a brief and unfriendly message from the other man (who we had asked earlier that day) that we had to decide this immediately. I told the young man, I was looking at whether it was possible, and then we took the breakfast and this was excellently cared (for which thanks)"

"Generally good location as it is right next to the train station (less than 5 minutes walk) and a 20 to 30 minutes walk from the hotel to the tourist spots in the city central (might be a bit of a walk for the elderly). Pretty average room with just a towel but you cant' complain for the price. The only issue I had was what was mentioned by other visitors, the windows cannot be opened and you are not able to adjust the aircon settings. You will have to talk to the front counter to adjust your room temperature. However, even after adjusting aircon, the room was still stuffy."

"Excellent! The decor is stylish, and it's clean and quiet. Although it's not in the city center, public transport is very convenient. Finding a queen-size bed in a standard room in Europe is a huge bonus, needless to say. The long-haired, black-haired female receptionist was very enthusiastic. The only minor downside was the tissue box, which only had about five sheets – I wonder if they forgot to replace it."

"Location-wise, it's right next to Ghent City Hall, super central! Most of Ghent's attractions are within a 10-minute walk, and there are plenty of supermarkets and restaurants nearby, like Carrefour and McDonald's. However, because it's so central, it can get a bit noisy; you can still hear people on the street late into the night. Service: The front desk staff were all very friendly and enthusiastic, and there's complimentary water. Facilities: It's an older hotel, which is fine, but the TV isn't a smart TV so you can't cast to it. The air conditioning didn't seem to heat up enough, even when set to the maximum fan speed and highest temperature. On the upside, the room itself is very spacious. Cleanliness: It was very clean. Overall, for a few hundred yuan, staying in a chain hotel like this offers good value for money."

Generally the cleanliness of lobby floor public areas and room were above average 👍🏻👍🏻 Need to be careful when driving into that expo , ikea and the hotel zone as they located along with each others and shared the same directory board which the indicator bit small you might miss the hotel car park entrance The front staff he is super friendly and helpful 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I would say the amenities is worth for the price 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

This hotel was the most impressive one on my trip through the Netherlands, Germany, France, Luxembourg, and Belgium. It's located right in the heart of Ghent's scenic riverfront, a World Heritage site, one of Europe's top ten design hotels, and on the list of the world's top 100 hotels! Staying here, it truly lives up to its reputation. It's incredibly well-designed, opulent, a genuine antique with a strong sense of culture and history. The classic Baroque style is evident, and the furniture and decor are all traditional European. It exudes the luxurious feel of an ancient European palace! The breakfast was also excellent, especially the breakfast restaurant, which has fantastic views!

The boss didn't understand English, it was difficult to communicate, and he charged arbitrarily. He changed my double room to a double bed. The location is next to the tram, there is a tram at about 5:00 in the morning, it is very noisy, I can’t sleep

This hotel, a former military barracks in Ghent, champions eco-friendliness and creativity! Just look at that bowl of wontons—can you believe this was made in a hotel restaurant in a medieval city in Belgium? Even Lao Gan Ma chili crisp is available at the front desk shop! I particularly love the color scheme here: the blue feels so luxurious, and the pink is wonderfully vibrant! The breakfast is plentiful with lots of options. I recommend booking a room with breakfast included; watching the people in the breakfast room feels like being back in college—it's a whole room full of young people, truly a hotel designed for a younger crowd.

Rooms are not the same as shown on the website. Location is 100 meter walk from Hotel de Flandre, the opposite side. The receptionist said as friendly to walk us to the other hotel building called City Garden Hotel. It's more motel like hotel. Staircases are very slippery when it rains, if you choose not to use the lift. Rooms are not well maintained, light bulbs not working, safe not functional in one room, or low battery in the other room changed. We reported it to the reception, offered to changd one room, this time there is no toilet door??!!! And lots of diets and hair here n there... Honestly overall experience is a bit disappointing for what you paid, thus not good value for money.

The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from the train station. The lobby is on the smaller side, but it has a cozy, homey feel, like a family living room. The staff were all very warm and friendly, even helping to heat up food. It's a bit of a distance from the main tourist attractions, but there are plenty of tram options nearby. There are also lots of convenient and tasty restaurants and cafes in the area!

Great location with everything within walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options. Service was outstanding. As we had to check out at 4am on our last day, we informed the hotel that we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the breakfast. The team kindly prepared a takeaway food bag for us, which was a very thoughtful gesture.
