We loved this hotel!! The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly 🥰 It was great to have a bath in our room 😁 We appreciated the view of the old stock exchange from our window & the lush trees outside. The hotel is ideally located for public transport. We were able to book the sauna that was only a 5 minute walk away. We also swam from the beach near the opera house. The centre of Oslo is full of interesting buildings, green spaces & artworks. Would have no hesitation in booking again 😁

For our stay, we booked a studio apartment at The Sweet. The room was lovely and kitchenette was well-equipped. We were able to cook meals there over the days of Christmas when most restaurants and shops were closed. The location is a little outside of the center- nice and quiet but easy to access public transit. My biggest issue with this hotel was that communication was very… odd. As the booking notes, I called the hotel in advance to schedule my check-in. When my call was answered, I told them who I was and that I was calling to schedule my check in (for a time when the booking said check in is available). I was told no one would be at reception at that time (3pm on Dec 23) and they would text me instructions for how to check myself in. Then she confirmed my phone number and asked for my email address, but when I started to give it, she said, “oh, that’s ok. We can’t use email anyway”. Odd. Before getting off the phone, I had her confirm that I would receive a text the next day with instructions to check in. Our train arrived around 2pm in Oslo and we still hadn’t received a text, so we waited at the train station thinking perhaps they would send the text right at 3pm since that was the time I had requested. At 3, I still hadn’t received anything, so we called the hotel again. A different employee answered from the one I had spoken to the day before. I gave my name and explained that I was calling because I had scheduled check in the day before but hadn’t received the information to check in. The employee asked where I was and told me that there were people staffing reception to help us check in, which I thought was odd because the previous employee told me no one would be there. When we got to the hotel, we rang the bell and got into the building, but reception is apparently in the basement- there is only a very tiny sign that says this- so we missed it and I called them again. A man came up with our keys and got us set to go. We got into our room and it was lovely! About 5 hours later, I got a call from Trip saying that the hotel is trying to contact me because they are wondering why I hadn’t checked in and they don’t have a way to get in touch with me. I was sitting in the hotel room when I got this call. I told the Trip representative that I was checked in and it was fine for her to give my phone and email to the hotel. I know the communication elements have taken up a huge portion of my review and I know they are not the end of the world, but I want to share them because I believe it would be quite simple to avoid situations like this in the future and make the guest experience that much more pleasant at The Sweet. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the hotel overall and thoroughly enjoyed exploring Oslo!

Location is convenient, about 10 mins walk from Oslo S. although it is in the direction nearer to the office buildings and away from the attractions. Breakfast spread is amazing and tastes good. Room and bathroom are spacious, bed is soft and comfortable. The only drawback is the amenities. There is no toothbrush provided, and I find the shampoo, conditioner, and hand wash a little too mild / diluted, would have preferred it to be thicker and foamier. Body soap is ok.

The hotel's location is excellent! It's super convenient to get anywhere. The room isn't huge, but the bathroom and shower are good. The best part is the spacious common area on the first floor, perfect for dining, working, or just relaxing. The dining area has a microwave, kettle, coffee machine, and even plates and cups. Coffee is 25 NOK a cup. All in all, the hotel offers good value for money!

This lovely family-friendly hotel is situated high up in the mountains West of central Oslo. Getting there by public transport involves taking the world’s highest metro line for about 25 minutes, and then walking up quite a step hill. The reward once you get there is a main building steeped in Norse heritage, and a wonderful view of the fjord below. We stayed in a family room. The design of the lobby is contemporary and inviting, whilst the old building’s decor evokes Disney’s Frozen. We have stayed at six other Scandic hotels in Sweden and Germany, and this is our firm favourite. We had lunch on the outside terrace and children’s meals are priced very competitively. The beetroot sallad was perhaps a bit small but the salmon and roe on sourdough was delicious. The breakfast didn’t disappoint either. I’ve seen other reviewers lament the climb from the metro stop. To that I’d say: Welcome to Scandinavia! This why people look in shape. Extra shout out to the receptionist who helped us with a query near midnight. Would love to return again.

The room was just okay. I really disliked the bright red curtains; they felt quite basic. The table inside seemed flimsy, like it couldn't hold anything heavy. I booked a room with breakfast included, but it turns out it wasn't a proper breakfast—just a sandwich, yogurt, or coffee from the front desk. The prices here are shocking; a cup of coffee is 55, a banana is 15, a yogurt is 59, and a sandwich is around 100. A simple breakfast can easily cost several hundred. Norway's prices really make you hesitant to spend money. The hotel is a ten-minute walk from the train station and close to a shopping mall. However, if you're pulling a big suitcase, getting to the hotel involves walking up a steep hill, which is quite a struggle. The area around is also under construction and a bit messy. Overall, Oslo, Norway, was just very average.

Highly recommended. The hotel is part of an old post office, located right behind a bus stop, 100m from a tram stop and 500m from Oslo Central Station. There are restaurants just downstairs or nearby. The room is large enough and well-equipped, with a washing machine, a big drying rack, a microwave and all utensils. There is a public room for (self-service, super convenient, pretty large space) luggage storage facilities and all the necessites (tea packs, towels, linens, and ear plugs etc., though it is quiet at night) Everything is done on app, including check-in/out and opening the doors. However, the door-opening function in the app doesn't work sometimes so you have to use code instead (there's no reception). Also, you have to go through some stairs at entrance and a winding passage to reach your room. The room is a little bit dark at night (even with all the lights on) for reading and writing. The TV is located in a weird position.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful anniversary stay We had a wonderful stay at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Oslo, which was the perfect place to end our Scandinavian anniversary trip. A special mention to Erik, who welcomed us during check-in. He was incredibly friendly, warm and welcoming, and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We were also delighted with a Junior Suite upgrade for our 17th wedding anniversary, which made our stay even more special. ❤️ The room was spacious and comfortable, and the location was excellent, especially being so close to Oslo Central Station. Thank you to Erik and the entire Plaza team for making our stay so memorable. We would happily stay here again! ❤️🇳🇴

The hotel is very close to the central train station. In fact, you can cross the bridge (covered) to the nearby mall, exit on the 1st floor, cross the road and enter the hotel. The hotel's surroundings are dirty and less pleasant, both because of renovations and construction in the area and from a human perspective. A short walk (5 minutes) brings us to the main street, or to the central square, or to the opera house) The hotel itself, like the other chain hotels, is commendable. Free coffee/tea, water/soda in the lobby and sometimes also fruit and small pastries. We were given a spacious room on the fourth floor with large windows that can be opened. This is important when it's hot, but the windows face an internal courtyard so there is no view and no good air exchange. The room was ventilated, but there was no air conditioning. The bed was comfortable. A large and pleasant shower room with a wide shower that you don't have to crowd into. Two sinks and a large window. A seating area with two armchairs and a standing lamp (without the bulb itself...) The room was maintained to a reasonable but not excellent standard. (Lack of bulb, stains on the chair upholstery, clogged shower head that we asked to replace and it was replaced quickly). A very good, varied and wonderful breakfast like in the entire chain. We would return to this hotel if we had heavy luggage and came to stay overnight but not for a vacation.

First of all, my baby and I brought 3 pieces of luggage, and the receptionist didn't seem to want to help at all. When I checked out, I met a very good receptionist, who was very nice and enthusiastic. The hotel is in a good location and has a high cost-effectiveness. This price is much more comfortable than living in Japan.
