A great base for catching early flight out of Porto, rooms clean and large functional for travellers with overnights rather than long stays. A couple of things that could really improve the customer experience is a separation of smoking and non-smoking rooms as we stayed on the first floor and coming out of the lift was like walking into an ashtray and fog of smoke coming from smoking rooms located on the same floor as non-smoking. The smoke got so bad i had to place a towel over the bottom of our room door to stop the vapours leaking in to our room. I am not sure whether this hotel offers non-smoking floors and we might have been unlucky and been allocated a smoking room, but the room had a smoke alarm in the ceiling so suspect its a mixture of smoking and non-smoking same floor. The next observation was the breakfast was very basic, adequate but basic, self service. I would stay again based on it location to the airport and easy to get to from central Porto.

Everything was more than great ! From the fabulous welcome by Anais , to all other staff members) they really made their best. The suite was spacious and luxurious, the owner of the property clearly has good taste transforming this old property into a luxury boutique hotel ) The spa treatments were very good, The Italian restaurant simple but on point) I would give it a 9/10 , the check - in could have gone smoother , room service could be more attentive to client demands (when asking to remove an ingredient by example) I will definitely come back and try the best category of the hotel (master suite) Top

The suite was so nice, spacious with sunlight coming in. The owner was so lovely - we needed to check in early and he came to personally helped us out and gave us recommendation to a restaurant nearby (which turned out to have amazing food!!) It was so nice of them to have our baggage carried upstairs while readying the room. The bathroom was so clean, couch and bed were very comfortable. Area is very trendy artsy area and felt quite local which I absolutely loved. I really wish I stayed longer (I kept saying I’d totally come stay here for a whole month if I could). Honestly had such a great time and I will definitely come back if I’m back in Porto (and recommend to all my friends in Lisbon to come stay here as well!)

There was no refrigerator or kettle, which was inconvenient. There is a supermarket 6-7 minutes walk away. Even if breakfast is not included, there is a bakery right in front of the hotel.

Everything was perfect. If I had to say one thing, it would be that the heating equipment was a bit lacking because the facility is old.

Great location and wonderful service by the hotel team. However, the rooms on the 1st floor (we had 2) weren’t great - the showers needed about 10minutes at full blast to get hot water and even then it was only lukewarm. One of the shower screens was leaking and it flooded the bathroom floor. The 2nd stay was better - we got rooms on the 3rd floor. Decent showers with immediate hot water. If the maintenance was managed better, this was be a super hotel as the location is fantastic. And the reception team is excellent

Overall, it's good. The location isn't in a touristy area, but it's close to the concert hall, and there's a supermarket and a food market nearby. It's a pretty chill area! Just a heads-up though: there's no fridge in the room.

Although the reception staff was impeccable in exchanging a room with a bathtub, as requested at the time of booking, it only had small towels - the large bath towels were missing. Bathtub faucet leaking heavily, with water spraying everywhere. At 9am, construction work was underway in a hotel room on the same floor, and it seemed like they were in the same room, such was the noise. One observation: the receptionist wanted to know how it went, so I mentioned what had happened, and in response I received: ”It will be better next time...!”

Great facilities. We went with half board. And it doesn't pay off. After knowing the prices, we would have paid less for dinner if we paid on the day. We went on the weekend and the hotel was full. It's a large hotel and we didn't like the experience from that point of view. The objective is to relax and have a different experience, but we ended up having to wait to enter the Turkish bath, sauna and swimming pools, which became unfeasible, as they looked like municipal swimming pools. full of people. About the staff, the girls at the restaurant and at breakfast (who are the same) are very helpful and friendly. The same can no longer be said for the reception staff. Little willingness to help with such simple things, such as lending a mere phone charger, easily resolved by the dining room staff. In short, it is a hotel with conditions, but I find it very confusing when it is full, something that I believe is common at the weekend.

AaricarpinoSpent two nights in the 10 beds mixed dorm, location is great and the breakfast buffet is too, a lot of food and drink options, the place is overall clean and comfortable. There was only one bathroom (shower+toilet) available in the room because the other was broken, it wasn't a problem but I think it might not be enough for a room that big (especially considering that shower and toilet are in the same room and can be used by one person at a time). Really nice view from the window. No hair dryer. Paid lockers if you want to leave you luggage before check in or after check out (hourly fee).

AAnonymous UserAmazing hotel located away from the centre but near the Metro. Beautiful decor and furnishings. Rooms were luxurious, and well equipped. The staff at reception were super helpful and courteous. One of the advantages is that the hotel provide a free airport shuttle. Mine was in a Tesla X with white leather seats. Just email your flight details to the hotel prior to arrival. Although away from the centre I preferred the location as it had more local restaurants nearby. Try the Francesinha Cafe which is a 5 minute walk away The nearest Metro is Marques which is a 5 minute walk. Would definitely return.

JJinwooOne of the Best Serviced Apartments We’ve Stayed At This was easily the best serviced apartment we’ve stayed at recently. All the facilities were brand new, and the cleanliness—especially in the kitchen and bathroom—surpassed even some 4-star hotels. Everything we needed was provided, and the interior design was excellent. The bed was also very comfortable. Great location, great price, great amenities. Here are a few potential downsides that might matter to some guests: • The internet was very slow. The Wi-Fi signal on the second floor was the strongest, so we used that, but it was barely sufficient for even checking emails. It felt as if the connection was intentionally throttled. If you need stable internet for work, tethering through your phone might actually be faster. • No elevator. Our unit was located on the second floor, and we had to carry about 30kg of luggage up the stairs ourselves. Even a small, old-fashioned lift would have been a huge help. • Noise from upstairs. Although the apartment was newly renovated, the flooring is still the original wooden structure, so noise from the upper floor can be heard. We were tired enough to sleep through it with earplugs, but sensitive guests should take this into account. Booking the top-floor unit might solve this issue, though that means climbing even more stairs. • Early check-in confusion. We had requested an early check-in, but it wasn’t communicated properly. As a result, we had to drop off our luggage at the YOUROPO office, which is about a 6–7 minute walk from the apartment. I wonder if we could’ve left our luggage directly at the property if the message had gone through properly—perhaps someone from the team could clarify? Despite these minor issues, I would still give this property a full 5 stars. If we visit Porto again, YOUROPO will be at the top of our list.

GGuest UserLast year I had the most wonderful stay at Menina Colina, and was excited to return. Unfortunately I now wish I had reserved elsewhere, as it has been nothing but a disappointment. Prices are so much higher than a year ago, but I thought I got what was a good deal on the garden room. Turns out it is greatly overpriced for what is offered, as it has none of the exquisite design or attention to detail that the interior rooms have. It also seems to be neglected in terms of maintenance. The coffee machine was leaking, and after reporting it, it was made out to be my fault as I was using it incorrectly. I had to physically show a member of staff the leaked water for them to agree to replace it. I was really annoyed that they felt that they needed to demonstrate to me how it works rather than just replacing it immediately. The next disappointment was that the room was initially not serviced at all, and no explanation was given. When you are paying $165 for a mediocre room (not even including breakfast), one would at the very least expect the bins to be emptied. The bathroom also had a terrible smell that permeated the room, and mosquitoes were a problem too. Management did offer me lunch or attendance of their fado show, but none of these arrangements fitted into my busy programme. I thought a small financial compensation would have made more sense. That did not happen, and nothing further was mentioned or discussed on check-out. The final issue was the online check-out which they require. When I tried to complete it, my bill was for my entire stay, although 3 of the 4 nights had already been paid months in advance. So my conclusion is unfortunately that Menina Colina’s standards have dropped significantly, and that it is overpriced for the lack of attention to detail that is evident in several areas.

GGuest UserThis was not the first time I've been at this hotel. It's a nice place to spend a few nights. The breakfast food is good in terms of variety and the staff is nice and helpful. The spa is always a pleasant place for you to relax. However, the buttons of the jets don't work properly, specially the ones that are only accessible when you are in the pool, which can be frustrating if you like to use them and won't be able to. This time, the sauna was out of work, as well, but they were fixing it. They didn't really seem worried about fixing the jets' buttons, though... When I was at the hotel last year, they weren't already working properly, but now I couldn't even get them to work. The ones that would work, wouldn't be active for a long time after you pressed on them. In other Spas, they usually work for a few minutes when you turn them on. In this one, they would only be active for about 20/30 seconds at a time. The room I stayed in, had a different display. You would go through a corridor with the bathroom at the front and on the left you had the sleeping area. I liked it because it would conceal the noises coming from the outside a bit better. All rooms have a balcony, but something that feels that is always missing are a couple of chairs and a table. The balcony becomes useless without them! I couldn't open the bathroom door well (not even in 90 degrees in relation to the entrance) because it would bump on the bidet. Also, the shower and glass covering the bathtub seemed to be at the wrong wall because it was inevitable to wet the entire toilet when you showered. The corners were a bit dusty and the bathroom bin hasn't been changed from the previous guest. I think the cleanliness can be improved.

ZZaherWe had a wonderful stay at Eurostars Aliados in Porto. While advertised as a 5-star hotel, it feels more like a high-end 4-star, mainly because it lacks some of the extra touches of luxury and service you’d expect from a top-tier 5-star experience. That said, it still offers great value for money and an excellent stay. One of the hotel’s strongest points is its location—right in the heart of Porto, making it easy to explore the city on foot. Despite being so central, the room was quiet and well-insulated, allowing for a great night’s sleep. Check-in was smooth and efficient, with friendly and professional staff who made us feel welcome right away. Throughout our stay, the staff remained courteous and helpful, ensuring a pleasant experience. Our room was spacious, stylish, and very comfortable, featuring a king-sized bed, elegant decor, and a huge shower that added a touch of indulgence. Everything was spotlessly clean, which is always a priority when choosing a hotel. The hotel has a spa with a gym, sauna, and hammam, free for guests. While we didn’t have time to use them, they looked modern, well-maintained, and inviting, adding to the hotel’s appeal. Overall, Eurostars Aliados delivers a stylish and comfortable stay at a reasonable price. While it may not quite reach the level of a true 5-star experience, it’s an excellent option for those looking for a high-quality hotel in the center of Porto. We would definitely stay here again!

EEmilyI recently spent four nights at Aparthotel Oporto Sol, and while my stay was overall okay, it came with a few drawbacks. First, the location is a bit outside the main area of Porto, which required some extra effort to get into the heart of the city. While the surroundings were quiet and less crowded, I did find myself relying on public transport or taxis more than I would have liked. One of the main issues was the absence of air conditioning in the bedroom. During my stay, the temperatures were warm, and it made things uncomfortable at night. Opening the windows was not an option due to the presence of mosquitoes outside, which meant I struggled to find a comfortable sleeping temperature. On the positive side, the apartment itself was spacious and generally clean. The amenities were adequate for my needs, and the staff was friendly and helpful, albeit a few blocks over. I appreciated the kitchenette, which allowed me to prepare some of my own meals during my stay. In summary, while my stay at Aparthotel Oporto Sol had its merits, the lack of air conditioning and its location outside the main area impacted my overall experience. If you're sensitive to heat or prefer to be in the city center, you may want to consider other options. Otherwise, it serves as a decent accommodation for those seeking a quieter spot.
