The highest lake in the world: Namtso

☘️Namtso, located in the southern part of the Northern Tibet Plateau, within the territory of Damxung and Bangor County, with a lake surface altitude of 4700 meters, is the highest lake in the world and the third largest saltwater lake in China and the second in Tibet. 🌿Namtso in Tibetan, Nam means sky, and Tso means lake, so Namtso is also known as Sky Lake. It is one of the three major sacred lakes in Tibet along with Mapam Yumtso and Yamdrok Yumtso. 🌾Namtso is the first sacred lake of the ancient Bon religion in Zhangzhung.
