Park your car near the Xishan ancestral hall, where there is no parking fee, and from there you can walk into the village. Every ancient village has a large pond, from which many alleys diverge. Walking among them is like chasing the stories of time. There are not many tourists, and most of the original residents are elderly. Nantang, Tuanyun Tower, old houses and deep lanes, bluestone roads, and those leaf-shaped door latches are the real characteristics and highlights. The ancient village, over eight hundred years old, with its original residents living inside, is natural and serene. The places that charge fees are just some old houses, which, after seeing many, all look similar, so there's no need to go inside for a visit. What I can't understand is why good things have to be fenced off and charged for. If it were free, it would naturally attract people, and with tourists, there would be a need for food and accommodation, and they would buy some local products. Wouldn't that earn more? The shortsighted behavior of some is really detestable. The village has farm stays and snacks, so there's no need to worry about food. From mid-March, the rapeseed flowers are in full bloom, which is also the most beautiful time for Xinye ancient village. It's time to set off!
