#Linggan Anyu Hotel Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Settling into Gulangyu | The Wabi-Sabi Aesthetic Hotel Hidden Between Mountains and Seas
After the summer, Gulangyu also gradually returns to its former tranquility. Taking a brief escape from the city, I arranged to meet with friends to visit the island, in search of a peaceful place for healing.
For the long-awaited stay on the island, we chose the Anyu Balcony Suite with an excellent view. To the left, the Twin Towers loom, and to the right, Sunlight Rock is visible—sleeping by the mountain, opening the door to see the sea, the island's beauty is fully in view.
Inside the room, designed with a strong sense of wabi-sabi aesthetics, enjoy a day of immersive slow living. Looking at the century-old Min-style ancient houses outside the window, experience the intimate service of the hotel butler, just like family.
Why not settle here and enjoy the tranquility of the moment?

Xiamen | Beware of this Homestay, It's Addictive
Xiamen | Beware of this Homestay, It's Addictive
Embarking on a journey to Xiamen, I highly recommend you to take a stroll around Gulangyu Island. This petite island, known as the Island of Pianos, is home to an astonishing 5,000 pianos.
Also referred to as the Museum of International Architecture, the island boasts over 1,000 distinctive old villas, making it a must-visit spot for your travel itinerary.
When visiting Gulangyu, it's essential to immerse yourself in the experience of staying in one of these old villas. On this occasion, I checked into the Ling Gan An Yu Homestay. A sanctuary of tranquility, nestled within the island.
【Homestay Location】
The homestay is located at No. 50 Anhai Road, Gulangyu Island, directly opposite the Trinity Church. To the left, you can gaze upon the iconic Twin Towers of Xiamen, and to the right, the Sunlight Rock of Gulangyu Island. Its prime location at the heart of the island makes it incredibly convenient to travel anywhere.
【Living in the Homestay】
The homestay is a transformation of a century-old building, exuding a modern wabi-sabi style that balances the old and the new. The rustic exterior, characteristic blue windows of Gulangyu, aged wood, stone blocks, and the warm lights illuminating the space, all evoke memories of traditional Minnan houses.
The homestay offers 14 rooms in 7 different styles, each reflecting a unique island lifestyle. Upon entering the room, the warm earth tones are soothing, and the natural framing of the windows offers varying picturesque views, providing a sense of tranquility.
The rooms are spacious, with blue windows and rustic decor that are a feast for the eyes. There's always a detail that will capture your heart. Plus, the 24-hour butler service truly enhances the comfort of your stay.

Xiamen Travel | Stay in Xiaobailou once
When traveling to Xiamen, whether it's your first time or you've been here many times, you should go to Gulangyu Island.
Among the many red-wall buildings with a hundred years of history, there is a special small white building, which is the Ling'an Island Hotel where I stayed this time on my trip to Gulangyu Island. The hotel is opposite the Trinity Church, you can overlook the Xiamen Twin Towers landmark, and you can reach Longtou Road within 10 minutes on foot. A long street of delicacies, various Xiamen snacks and souvenirs are tasted one by one.
When I arrived at the pier, I saw the hotel butler waiting for me with an umbrella. The thin and tall young man took my suitcase, handed me a sun umbrella, and I felt safe and warm immediately. He introduced me to Gulangyu Island and the hotel while walking. Because the roads on Gulangyu Island are not very flat, he has been carrying my not light suitcase. When checking in, the young man handed me a cup of iced rose tea, which was slightly sweet and very good, and told me that the air conditioner in the room was already on. He also gave me a hand-drawn map of Gulangyu Island and coupons for recommended restaurants. Because Xiamen has been quite hot these days, I feel cool as soon as I enter the room. My terrace king room is very large, and the windows on both sides of the bed can see the outside, the vibrant ivy is very lively, it is a good terrace view room. The terrace overlooks the hotel's garden, which is especially beautiful in the evening. The white bag on the hanger also contains disinfectant wipes, napkins, sun umbrellas and rain umbrellas, and mosquito repellent. This is the first hotel I have encountered that is so attentive. The building I live in is also a renovated old building, with a modern wabi-sabi style. The simple exterior wall and the blue windows characteristic of Gulangyu Island awaken the memory of the Minnan "house". The bedding is also very good, with 2 types of pillows to choose from, and the memory foam is suitable for me.
After taking a bath and changing clothes, I went to the restaurant to enjoy my afternoon tea, with desserts, fruit plates and egg yolk crisps, paired with tea. Each one is not very sweet and delicious. If I wasn't worried about gaining weight, I would probably eat it all. Breakfast includes buffet and set meals. I chose the white porridge set meal. The side dishes include small dried fish, salted duck, bamboo shoots, and even an abalone.
