Absolutely stunning hotel. Undersold on its website.
Original Tudor hall with many original features which compare favourably to any that you might see in a National Trust property - especially the two incredible fireplaces. Great views towards central London from the terrace at the back.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Room was large, well furnished, and quiet (as I think would be all the hotel as in large grounds). Shame that pond was drained.
Annex at the back where the bedrooms are not very sympathetic design to the rest of the stunning hotel, and the gym could be better furnished. I think that Laura Ashley was involved in the interior design. Some reviews say that it is a bit down at it heels, but I didn't think so - more of a lived in air which made me feel more at ease. Looks of quirky design features which work well in a sort of 1960s New Avengers way, but I didn't like the fake wood pattern wallpaper in the bar as it cheapens the glorious fireplace next to it. My daughter loved sitting in one of the James Bond super villain blue chairs in the bar - she moaned that she didn't have our cat with her to complete the effect.
We booked this for not much more than the local Premier Inn that I normally stay at - but this is in completely a different league.
Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful hotel.
It is dated and the A1 is noisy but that’s what you’d expect choosing a hotel next to it. Our trip was fine. Shower was powerful. Breakfast was basic and plenty of it.
Booked this hotel as it’s close to the Harry Potter Studio Tour in Leavesden UK (and a little bit of one of the Harry Potter films was filmed at the fountain in the gardens).
It’s good reasonably priced accomdation if visiting the Studio Tour. The staff were helpful and the rooms we clean and well kept but a little on the small side
Our only negative was the A/C cooling in the room as not sufficient even on a cool May Day the room was very warm to the point of being uncomfortable
But overall a good stay with quiet and nice rooms. Would just be wary staying in the hot summer months
On arrival we were greeted with a warm smile .booking in was very simple paid for our pet on arrival . Room was clean and tidy . Plenty of green space on site to walk the dogs .Overall and pleasant stay
This was a perfect hotel for a weekend getaway, close to London in beautiful surroundings. The Superior King room was modern, spacious and comfortable, and the hotel retains some charming historic features.
We loved the outside grounds with plenty of areas to sit in the sun or shade and watch the roaming peacocks.
Staff were quite attentive and the food and drinks were good.
Definitely thinking of coming back again in the future.
We arrived at the Ramada Hotel by taxi from Heathrow Airport. It took about 1 hour and 20 minutes. I expected it to take longer since it's on the east and west sides of London, but it was closer than I thought. The hotel's location next to a service station meant we didn't have to worry about meals. It was great to have Burger King, Subway, Taco Bell, KFC, and two supermarkets nearby. Check-in was very quick, and the front desk staff were incredibly friendly. I liked that the shower stall was separate and the bathroom was quite spacious. Stansted Airport is about a 10-minute drive away, and if you call an Uber just before you leave, you can get a reasonable price! This accommodation was satisfying in all aspects. Haha.
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, especially the lady making the breakfast. She was lovely and joked with us.The setting was beautiful and we had a nice walk around the grounds.
The room was nice, spacious and clean. It would have been nice to have some other amenities such as access to a gym or fitness area. Also access to the bar or an alternative would have been nice however,we understand it was being used for an event.
Although the room was clean the landing and stairs could have done with hovering. There was mud on the stairs and I it looked a little shabby in places. But overall it was a nice hotel and we would most definitely stay again if in the area.
Be aware that if you book through Trio.com parking is not free, if you book direct with the hotel then it is free which was not made clear at time of booking.. Booking direct was the same price so if i had known i would have booked direct and save myself £5 parking charge for the night.. The two men on reception were also unhelpful and rude and laughed when i explained the situation to them, Location is good but would not go back, hotel is very dated!!

SShun FuRoom was small but clean. Parking fee of £2 was ok when compared with other hotels I. The area which charge between £8-12 per night. Will book again next time as price with reasonable when compared with other hotel and especially the high parking fee.
GGuest UserVery lovely apartment, clean and cosy. Accessing the flat on the first day was like a treasure hunt 😄. Nice location too. Heating can be improved.

GGuest UserWe (family of 5) stayed in the family room as we had an early flight from Stansted in the morning. We emailed Julie with our arrival time and she had everything prepared for us including an additional camping bed in the room. We were greeted warmly and showed around our and the breakfast room. Julie even went as far to place boy/girl napkins on the table for us which was very sweet. The room itself was lovely - large enough for 5 of us and our luggage. Beds were comfy and we had good hot water and biscuits/hot drinks. The location is perfect for Stansted, it took us less than ten minutes to get to the Mid Stay car park but note that if you're in the Long Stay it's a longer journey. Another advantage is that they will let you park your car on-site for a small fee, and you can then taxi to and from the airport which is only a few minutes (we will definitely do this next time as it's considerably cheaper than the airport car parks). Breakfast was amazing - since we left early we weren't that hungry but they had a huge variety of cereals, bread/crumpets, yoghurts, drinks, cereal bars, cheese, fruit ... the list goes on. Price was also very affordable especially for larger families as we could book a single room vs. having to book two (most places are max. occupancy of four). Many thanks and hope to see you soon!
HHannah_ttyThe hotel room is so big comparing to other hotels I've been to, everything is nice HOWEVER, it is super far from the city. Although the hotel is only 6minute from the train station, it takes more than an hour to travel from the hotel to the city. The train station is called Watford junction, and it is located in zone 8. Which as we just knew at the moment when we arrived, it is super expensive to travel around especially when we are living in zone 8. It cost around $8 to go to a station in the city, and it still cost you $3-4 to travel around, and everything need to times 2 as you need to head back to the hotel. So the price of the traveling per day per person is more than $20. Which you may use that money to go to a hotel nearer the city. I will recommend this hotel to anyone who have a car, but if you don't and if you are broke just like us, then don't.

AAnonymous UserEverything was lovely but the staff were not very friendly and we were not informed about the £200 pound deposit we needed to put down or that we would be locked out of our room at 11am
Would definitely stay again, but it would have been nice to have a tiny bit more info and customer service
PPedro Jose Suescun MorilloExcellent service from Alma at the reception upon arrival. It's a great area to stay if you have an early flight, as it's only 8 minutes from the airport – highly recommend! There are also plenty of food options nearby. Overall, my experience has been excellent; thank you.
