Nice hotel well situated by the night market, Abai Village and Rodeo Drive. Easy to walk around and explore. The rooms was well kept with no issues. Only downside was lack of parking. They will try to accommodate you so you won't be stuck, but was inconvenient.
It was a very nice experience - of course the hotel is more expensive due to its unique ”design”, but for us it was worth it (we only stayed one night). The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms were nice and clean and parking was included. Only thing is, that there is a little walk from the parking lot to the reception, but there are carts that can be borrowed. Also the surrounding area is nice and has some viewing spots worth exploring. We had nothing to complain.
The hotel was superb, right on the beach and had spectacular views. The rooms were excellent with great facilities. The iPad in the room giving you up to date information was very useful. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were plenty of restaurant choices in the hotel. The evening buffet on the top floor was expensive so we didn’t eat there. 108,000 won per person. There were cheaper alternatives in the lobby. Unfortunately, you had to pay extra to use the infinity pool and gym so we didn’t do this. 35,000 won to use a pool seemed unfair and should be built into the price of the room. I would highly recommend anyone to stay there.
The accommodations were fantastic! The room was spacious and clean, and the ocean view was perfect!
The breakfast was delicious, too!
I'm so happy I visited, and I'll definitely be visiting this hotel again whenever I visit Gangneung.
The hotel is beautiful. There are nice restaurants within the hotel compound so you do not need to go anywhere. The view from the balcony was amazing (slop view). Amenities sufficient, room spacious. We took 2 of these rooms since we were 2 adults and 2 kids (12 years old). The beds are super single and 2 ppl sleeping on a bed is do-able or there is loads of space for an additional bed.
We didn't have bfast but a lot of restaurants and a CU within the hotel compound.
A word of advice, if you are coming from Seoul, stop at JINBU STATION and not Pyeongchang station. We made a mistake of going to Pyeongchang station which is far away and the cab will cost krw 60,000 per way. Jinbu station is just 5 minutes away.
We checked in a couple of hours after 6:00pm and there were no check in lines at all, the check in and check out process was very smooth and efficient. The room was clean, with great views of both the shops and restaurants below, and the partial ocean view was nice as well. The hotel had a convenience store on the 5th floor which we visited frequently. My family and I enjoyed the Ramada by Wyndham Gangwon Sokcho and will be returning soon,
My friends and I came to Intercontinental Alpensia because we got a really good deal and expected to experience snow right at the resort. The snow arrived a bit later than we hoped but honestly, we still had such a good time! The room was lovely, the weather was perfectly chilly (sometimes too cold.. so come prepared!) and we were lucky to catch real snow at Mount Balsangwan by taking the cable car at nearby resort (Mona Yongpyeong)
We have to give a huge shout out to the in-room dining service; the Beef Risotto and Frutti di Mare Pasta were soooo good. Truly delicious!
The whole area is so pretty and calm, especially with the Christmas vibe when we visited. Everything felt cozy and magical. We definitely plan to return! ❄️💙
Best Western Sokcho was located in the perfect spot for Seoraksan Treks and also to the city centre where the Central market was. The Express Bus Terminal (not intercity bus terminal, do check with your driver) only 5mins away to Seoul, bus stop to 7 or 7-1 is 3mins away. eMart was 5mins away and Daiso was 10mins walk from the hotel. Amazing offer from Trip.com if booking made in advance. We were travelling in a group of 4 and booked two Ocean view deluxe twin rooms. Beds were Ace bed, slept very comfortably for the 3 nights stay. There is a coin self laundry service at basement. Ocean view was blocked halfly but good enough to see sun rise from the beach which is only 10mins walk away. There are many good eateries around the hotel as well as near the beach, the lake and at the Central Market. One incident made the stay unpleasant though, we bought the famous Manseok chicken from the Central Market for a beer and chicken night after climbing the peak of Seoraksan Daecheongbong for 12 hours, the cleaning staff threw away our food (a box with full chicken inside) without asking. The reception staff reaction was disappointing as they didn't seem care. In the end, they offered to re-order a random chicken for us but we refused to take it as the mood was totally ruined. I have to say there was not much service per se at Best Western Sokcho as it is more like a service apartment but the hotel room quality, the location and price were fantastic. I will recommend anyone who like trekking Seoraksan and exploring around Sokcho to stay there but do not expect for hotel service.
The Sokcho Cassia Hotel, which we visited for our wedding anniversary trip, was located in Daepo Port, and we could see both the port and the sea from the veranda of the accommodation. It was on the 25th floor, and when we went in, there was a slight musty smell from the bathroom shower room, so we took off one star for cleanliness! The breakfast here was 66,000 won, which was expensive compared to other accommodations, so we had high expectations, but there weren't many options for the price. Weekends are divided into three parts, and you can choose on a first-come, first-served basis when you check in. I think the checkout time was 11:00, but we checked out right after 8:00 after the first part of the breakfast to avoid traffic.

EEEErikaaaTraveling with a 2-year-old child
It was nice that there was a children's playground, an indoor pool, and a large hot spring bath. The child was very satisfied.
The dinner buffet had delicious snow crab and sashimi.
There were various activities on site, as well as a convenience store, restaurant, and cafe, so we could enjoy ourselves all day at the resort.
About 20 cm of snow fell in the middle of the night, but the staff worked hard to shovel it away, which was great.
There were mats laid in the pool to prevent slipping, but they were not all over the place, so the tiled parts were slippery, so please be careful if you have small children.
I asked for bed guards when I checked in, but they never came to install them.

TTuxannie WuanThe place is good, 7 minutes to ski and has a supermarket and eatery place nearby.
Honestly the room is nice, with cooking facilities but the owner was not friendly at all.
The toilet was stuck and leak they came with only the plunger and ask us settle ourself.
Is winter and we came with kids, the kids built a snowman and they destroyed the snowman after we went for ski trip.
We are a group of 10 and we wanted to cook our dinner. There is a small hut with table and chair and BBQ facilities, we ask to BBQ facilities (We are willing to pay, 10,000 won as stated) but she said is winter so we can’t use the BBQ pit, ended up we use the stove to cook up the meat.
The husband and wife came in to the huts and told us we can’t do BBQ but we explained to her we just cook the meat and we didn’t do any BBQ. We left the place with cleaner than we came in. I have to WhatsApp her and show her the place is cleaned.
The warn us that we must left the place by 1am but in fact all of us finished eh 9.30pm every day since we are tired from Ski.
During the last day, they came to us and I was thinking they come and say goodbye but they just make sure we throw every single piece of rubbish outside the house.
My husband wear shoe and just step to take our luggage and the owner insist us to take out the shoe before we went in to the house. Although we have explained, we just step in and take the luggage and go, he insisted us to take out the shoes.
I have been travelling all around the world and we do understand every cultural is different but as the operator of tourist industry, the owner has to be service minded. If you can’t accept any international travellers then please do not list your place in any platform or put up a notice that international tourist is not permitted to stay there and we won’t book accordingly.
Is such a shame to see this happened to us after our 5th trip to Korea and our 3rd trip to Pyeongchang for ski.

GGuest UserRooms were pleasant, everything functioning nicely. Hotel is comfortable and reasonably well-organised. Around the resort there are places where poor signage and language difficulties may give pause for non-Korean-speaking travellers, but it's nothing that a smartphone and a little persistence can't overcome. Free shuttle buses to the close-by ski hill and two local towns are frequent enough. Staff are kind, considerate and helpful. Food on the mountain is basic but perfectly fine. Unless you are coming for the casino specifically I wouldn't recommend the hotel in general. All facilities require extra charges and are cynically overpriced to rob more money from the punters, whose tinted-window executive cars arrive in droves. The less said about the buffet at the Grand Table the better. There is something very soulless about the High1 resort in general, and the strong corporate vibes give the place an eerie quality. The skiing is not so bad, although experienced riders will get bored after 2 or 3 days, unless a rare snowfall increases the fun. That said, the resort's snow-making abilities are quite impressive. If you are someone who gets irritated by poor piste etiquette, don't come here. At any given time half of the riders will be in the process of falling over, will have already fallen over, or will be chatting sat in the middle of the fairway. Try not to imagine anything in the way of apres-ski. As a solo traveller bored of watching the casino donkeys shift about the hotel, I went searching in the local towns for a bar. It was a depressing failure. I read the resort was intended to bring money to the depressed mining towns of Sabuk and Gohan, but seemingly it has turned these places into a succession of garishly presented empty restaurants and ”Thai massage” joints, the latter being a favourite of the aforementioned tinted-window crowd.
NNaveedAdvantages
Conveniently situated
Generously sized accommodations
Impressive amenities
Perfect for family trips, this place offers all the amenities you need, just like an Airbnb. You'll find a cooker, pots and pans and cutlery readily available.
Conveniently located near a variety of dining options
Drawbacks
The staff had limited English proficiency, making communication quite challenging.
Upon our early arrival at around 11am, we found the reception area to be deserted. Along with other guests, we were left waiting at the counter, unsure of what to do. Finally, around 1pm, a receptionist appeared. However, rather than simply informing us that check-in was only possible after two, they made each guest wait in queue to deliver the same message. Upon returning to the reception at 2, we were informed that we had to wait an additional hour. This experience was quite unprofessional and made it challenging to enjoy other activities
GGuest UserI spontaneously decided to stay for a night and booked after reading reviews that praised its cleanliness. It was much cleaner and more spacious than I expected, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. I really enjoyed watching the sunrise over the ocean!
The only slight issue was that parking was quite limited, probably because it was peak season, and I barely managed to find a spot. Otherwise, check-in and check-out were smooth, and I was very satisfied.

22022년 호랑이 해I booked a quadruple suite.
I booked it because the promotional photos looked great, and I was satisfied with the location near the terminal, so I booked it.
After checking in, I realized that the bedroom was spacious for four people, and the living room was perfect.
The air conditioning worked well, and the Styler was perfect, so I could really relax.
The coffee and tea were also great!
Disposable items aren't provided these days, so just bring those.
Just right! There were plenty of towels too.
Ahaha~~~ The fridge was a bit small for its size, but it only held eight 500ml water bottles.
It's close to restaurants, bars, and convenience stores, so I'll definitely be back.
