Best place to stay because you can walking distance to some of spots. Staffs are nice & friendly even some of them couldn’t speak English. Cozy room and near to the bus & train station
The hotel is conveniently located near the subway and train station, with a bank ATM at the subway exit. The room was spacious, but the only issue was the old air conditioning unit, which didn't adjust the temperature. You have to walk up from the third floor to reach the fourth floor, but there's an open-air balcony. The night view is truly photogenic, even without the filter. Parking is available, but avoid the second row, as it's difficult to get out. The other row is very convenient.
The location of the hotel is great. There is a seaside park at the doorstep, and there are warships that you can buy tickets to visit. The day we went there happened to be a weekend, and there were many families coming to the park for activities, and the traffic was congested 🤪 The traffic jam lasted for half an hour for several hundred meters. It was 4:30 when I arrived at the front desk. Fortunately, the check-in was fast, and I was upgraded to a sea view room (but the floor was very low, on the 4th floor), and I could see the sunrise in the room.
The room area is relatively small, and we added a bed when the child grew up, and there was basically no room. The hardware facilities are still average. The breakfast is OK, and you can play with cats while eating breakfast in the outdoor area.
Our balcony room was on the second floor, with no elevator access, but the staff are happy to help carry luggage up. Breakfast was a generous spread of traditional Turkish items: bread, cheese, various jams, and your choice of egg dishes. Our room was clean, and the bathroom even had an external window. The absolute best feature of this hotel, however, is its incredibly convenient location: it's just a 10-minute walk to the Izmir airport shuttle bus stop. As of April 2025, the fare was 400 Lira, and you can purchase tickets directly from the driver when you board.
The hotel is located in the center - in the heart of Izmir. Many different Turkish cafes around. Not far from the market.
Before you check-in you should verify the actual details and size of your room. In our case what was in the picture on Trip.com was not exactly the reality. When we asked why we booked 20m3 double room and were given a small one of 14m3 they started explaining that the system booked automatically..., we have two types..., you should have told us you need the bigger one etc. Very funny and weak excuses.
Otherwise the hotel is not bad, the breakfast is ok, the location is nice. By the way - parking is just along the road next to the hotel - it is a normal way of parking in many places in Türkiye.
The location and cleaning was very good, especially the location. I think there was no TV. The air conditioning wasn't hot in the first room we entered, we said, they took us into a suitable room. Therefore thank you. This room has a large window opening to air, but it is broken, not closed, it needs to be reviewed. I can say a hotel of 7.5 over 10.
What can I say about the city of Izmir? You can go there or not. I also went to see the clock tower, which is a small tower. The big elevator is just a residential elevator. There is not much point in making a special trip there. This hotel is in the new district. There are not many places to eat. It looks like a regular Hilton Garden Inn. But I don’t know why the price difference between one person and two people is 200. I booked the price for one person. In fact, they are the same. Turkey is a magical country.

Great
I was surprised by the hostel. I loved the decor; it feels super homey. The people who work there are very friendly. I loved the garden. It's very close to the train station and downtown.
The owner is friendly and the breakfast is a small home-cooked affair, they are very nice people. Zafash handled check in and out for us , he is a very nice gentleman from Konya. He helped us with our luggages as there is no lift for this property. Our 2-person room facing the road was nice and had a balcony. But the 3-person room beside it was very cramped and the bathroom had an unpleasant smell when the toilet cistern was not covered. I felt it was more a hostel than a hotel for the 3-person room. So our experiences differed depending on the room. Overall it was alright for a one night stay and people in Selcuk are lovely and helpful.
My favourite stay in Istanbul. Restful ambience. Lovely low-key hosting by Vedat. Beautiful rooms with dark polished wood, larrge windows with green leafy outlooks. Excellent traditional breakfast served at the time of your choosing - tasty and healthy, quality local produce.
Best meal in Turkey!! I was able to upgrade my room to have private toilet in my room, that looked out the whimsical garden in the back through my window, which was unexpected bonus. Well updated old friendly place that brings a little kid out of me in a fairy world. ^&^ Another bonus was having beautiful, healthy, best tasting homemade Turkey food in light rain to make the total cozy home feeling in romantic and rustic setting. ^&^
Nice hotel, impeccable room service. We had a room with a city view, but actually it is possible to see also the seaport of Izmir with ships from the window.
Pleasant stay at hotel. Location very near ferry port. Parking in road was possible. Restaurants in the area were fair. They tried to help disabled guests with a small chair lift, but the ramp to the outside pavement was too steep. Hotel best for it's convenience although staff were verry good.
>I really enjoyed my stay at ShantiHome. The location is strategically. The host was fantastic and welcoming, and the hostel made it easy to meet many friendly travellers. The free breakfast was a great touch and added to the homely feel.
