One of the nicest hotels we stayed in Japan. We had stayed in a traditional japanese room with Futon beds with an amazing view, compared to some hotels stayed in Tokyo, staff here were so kind, patient and helpful. We had come here to Ski which was wonderful as the resort comes with its own ski garden and lift passes which we were given (so generous and kind thank you!), there is also a lovely onsen onsite for hotel guests to use (free). Even though this resort may seem like a walk to the train station there is a timely shuttle bus service to and from with lovely staff there to help. Would recommend and definitely would come again!
Although the hotel is a bit old, the room is renovated, bright and clean, and the area is large. The hot spring is comfortable. The hotel is next to the ski slopes. It is very convenient to ski in winter. The breakfast and dinner are buffets. I did not patronize, but there is a restaurant nearby. I am not afraid of nothing to eat.
Thank you for providing the comfortable hot springs and clean accommodations, allowing us to relax and unwind during our trip. However, our service during this stay fell short of expectations, and we would like to offer some sincere feedback as a reference for your pursuit of excellence.
First, it must be acknowledged that the hotel's facilities are indeed commendable. The excellent quality of the hot springs, and the consistently clean and tidy public areas and guest rooms, demonstrate a five-star hotel's commitment to basic quality, which is impressive.
However, the core of a true five-star experience lies in the service provided by the ”people,” and this is precisely what we found most regrettable. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we experienced an unexpected ”self-service” atmosphere. We were carrying a lot of ski equipment, making movement quite difficult, yet no porter offered to help us unload our luggage or provide guidance. We had to carry our heavy ski equipment and luggage piece by piece from the vehicle to the luggage cart ourselves; the chaotic process contrasted sharply with the attentive and welcoming service we had expected.
After check-in, several attempts to contact the front desk for inquiries were unsuccessful as the phone remained unanswered for extended periods. This communication breakdown inevitably caused anxiety and helplessness at crucial moments. Furthermore, occasional obstacles were encountered in communicating with staff in English, leading to unnecessary misunderstandings. The most obvious example was a notification letter we received regarding upcoming maintenance work in our room; the English version contained significant translation errors regarding the dates of the work, causing initial confusion. These details reflect room for improvement in the hotel's international service standards.
Additionally, adding hot and cold water dispensers to the common area, particularly in the coffee corner, would be beneficial.
The room is outdated style of Japanese room
design. When we reach the Echigo Yuzawa station there are no more JR train at 21.45 at nite, we have to take a taxi to the hotel. The transportation is a big issue as the hotel shuttle last bus is at 4.30pm. Good point is children can play snow just doorstep outside hotel. Stayed there for two nites which is enough to explore. Not much tourist was found there. Mostly is local. Prefer to stay at modern type of hotel with the same price. During winter it get dark around 4.30pm, so only can go to the Onsen at nite.
The room is clean and comfortable, all facilities are complete, many lockers are very convenient, you can ski or stay at home, there are hot springs to soak, comfortable
The hotel shuttle bus has a timetable that you can ask for. The hotel is located in the Iwhara Ski Resort. It is recommended to rent ski equipment directly from the hotel. The hotel staff are very friendly and the service is very good. The room is clean and spacious. Although the hot spring is not large, it is clean and comfortable. The scenery in the lobby and restaurant is very good. Overall, I am very satisfied with the experience.
This resort hotel is directly connected to the slopes and convenient for ski and snowboard trips. Its spacious Japanese-Western rooms, hot springs from the source, and views of the natural surroundings were appealing. The hot springs and buffet-style meals were very satisfying, and the staff were friendly and made for a comfortable stay. Although it is an old building, it is clean and has an atmosphere that is enjoyable for families and beginners, making it a hotel I would like to visit again.
Super super beautiful, very worth 👍 service is also super good ~ If you have the opportunity, you will want to go back to live again. Dinner and breakfast are also great, very relaxing hot spring area hotel.

Very Good
Amazing resort, felt like something out of a Christmas movie. Very friendly and helpful staff who speak very good English as well. Not a lot to do during the day if you aren’t out on the slopes though.
Not the hotel’s fault but ski slope was not opened until 27 Dec due to lack of snow. Otherwise it would have been a great ski in and out. Lift pass to Gala was provided. Breakfast and buffet dinner were fantastic. Onsen was as expected with leg massage pools.
Very satisfied with our stay at Angel Grandia Hotel. The ski-in, ski-out access made skiing extremely convenient, and moving from the ski area into the hotel never felt cold. The room was warm and comfortable at night. The staff and shuttle bus attendants were friendly and helpful, and having a FamilyMart inside the hotel was very convenient. We would definitely stay here again.
Location may be away from Sakihana station but they provide free shuttle if you inform in advance. Service was fabulous. The pretty Lady manager was warm and super friendly. The rest of the staff were efficient too. Their English is limited but we got by with GoogleTranslate. . Food was very delicious with many courses and side dishes. The highlight for us is the hot spring bath. The place was very clean and neat. We really enjoyed our time there. Yes, we have highly recommended our friends to visit the place in future.
This hotel was chosen as a midpoint before going up from Nagano to Niigata city. It is a hotel with a lot of history. I stayed in the main building, and it definitely felt old. It was clean enough that there were no problems with accommodation. It didn't seem like there were many guests because of its location, but the service was good, and breakfast was not buffet style, but a set meal, but it was quite neat and the taste was good.
Highly recommended for those driving. The hotel is a bit remote in the mountains, but it's spacious and comfortable. It has its own ski chairlift, tennis court, golf course, and billiards facilities. The rooms are large and clean, and the large public bath on the 7th floor is wonderful for soaking in. Enjoying the beautiful outdoor views while soaking in the hot spring in the morning is absolutely delightful. Different sizes of yukata are available at the elevator entrance on each floor for guests to change into. Breakfast and dinner are buffet style, and the variety and taste are acceptable. However, toothbrushes and toiletries are not provided in the rooms, so thankfully we brought our own.
The hotel is a bit old, but the rooms have been renovated; they are bright, clean, and spacious. The hot spring is comfortable. Located next to the ski resort, it's very convenient for skiing in winter. Breakfast and dinner are buffets, which I didn't try, but there are restaurants nearby, so there's no worry about finding something to eat.
