徐志摩（1897年1月15日—1931年11月19日），原名章垿，字槱森，留学美国时改名志摩。曾用过的笔名有南湖、诗哲、海谷、谷、等。浙江海宁硖石人。现代诗人、散文家，新月派诗人，新月诗社成员。徐志摩在海宁硖石镇的故居实际上有两处，一为老宅、一为新宅。位于海宁市硖石街道西南河17号原先那座四进式的明清古建筑早已成了断壁残垣。我们看到的新宅位于硖石街道干河街中段，是其父后来为徐志摩与陆小曼结婚而于1926年建造的一栋中西合璧式的小洋楼，共20余间，有冷热水管、电灯、浴室等设备。这在二十年代的中国农村无疑是一座令人侧目的豪宅。徐志摩深爱此屋，称其为“香巢”，内部装修及居室布置据说都是徐志摩亲手而为。徐陆两人自搬进新居后，度过了一段时间不长，但却“浓得化不开”的甜蜜生活。徐志摩在此写下了蜜月日记《眉轩琐语》、完成了小说《家德》、编就了《诗刊》第二期。新宅当时还居住着徐的父母，他的前妻、后来作为他父亲徐申如的继女张幼仪也同住在新宅里。
