Xidatan Township Review

Xidatan is next to the Qinghai-Tibet line, and the south side is the highest peak in Kunlun Shandong - Yuzhu Mountain, with an altitude of 6178 meters and snowy snow all year round. It is a better 6,000-meter snow mountain climbing target in China.

From Golmud all the way down to the West Beach, the roadside landscape is a monotonous desert. The mountain is rarely seen green, but the sky is getting bluer and the scenery is getting simpler. When the car passed the ditch, the accelerator was collected, resulting in insufficient momentum of the car and failed to pass the ditch smoothly. We didn't have a towing rope, we could only help find stones, digs or carts. I went ahead to see if I was on the main road. Fortunately, it was smooth and I could keep on going.

From Xining to the south through Golmud, you can reach the West Beach. Watching the ice peak and snow mountains in the distance, the slope is relatively moderate. But really driving up, I found that the slope is getting bigger and bigger. I walked slowly before I found a suitable place to turn around. Here is a typical alpine grassland, animals mainly rat rabbits, occasionally foxes. After a long-term evolution, snow peaks and surroundings formed a natural ecological environment system.

The West Beach, 2867 kilometers away on the Qinghai-Tibet Highway, is 4,200 meters above sea level. The houses on two or three floors along the road are basically integrated with food and lodging. The living materials are still much better near the road, but it is inconvenient to go to the toilet. There is a single public toilet in the wilderness, one or two hundred meters away, and the interior will not be said. In addition to the landing point for drivers and tourists, most of them have outdoor hobby elements, such as the Jade Everest climbing high altitude adaptation, and the Rangers (bikes, motorcycles) are everywhere. Occasionally, troops stationed in the highland Gobi come. The taste of the food is biased towards the taste of Sichuan cuisine, and the high and low beds can accommodate more people. You can overlook the north slope of Yuzhu Mountain and the majestic position of the glacier.

Xidatan is the mountaineering base camp of Yuzhufeng. Opposite the base camp, Xidatan is relatively wide, with flat roads and less ditches. Therefore, there are troops stationed in a large part of the region, and it is also a must-pass place on the Qinghai-Tibet line.
