Yuchang Building, built in 1368, is the oldest existing earth building, is one of the distinctive features of the earth building group to visit Fujian. The earth building is 5 floors high, the first floor is the stove room (kitchen), the second floor is the granary, the third floor is the elderly living, the fourth floor is the young people living, and the fifth floor is the coffin. Each floor of 54, a total of 270 rooms, covering an area of 2,289 square meters, construction area of 6358.2 square meters, civil structure, corridor-style round building, is the largest round building in the earth building. The whole building has five stairs, divided into five large scales, the bottom kitchen has a water well, a total of 22, but also Fujian Tulou in the most water wells earth building. The building is the difference between Yuchang Building and Tianluokeng Tulou. Its ancestor hall is not located on the first floor of the large earth building opposite the gate, but built a single-storey ancestor hall with three doors of Ximen, Shengmen and Death Gate in the center of the large patio. The biggest feature of Yuchang Building is that the pillars are crooked east and west, after 700 years of wind and rain, resulting in the third and fourth floor corridor pillars tilted in one direction (clockwise), and the fifth floor corridor pillars tilted in another direction (clockwise), the maximum tilt of 15°, it looks shaky, therefore, It is called the "East and West Sloping Building".
