A nice, small-scale experience with excellent value for money! Upon arrival, we were given a very warm welcome. We were offered a choice of four different types of tea, served with some tasty snacks. Because we were there in late September, it was quite quiet and the hall was not completely full, which created a relaxed atmosphere. The performance itself in the intimate, small theater was very entertaining. It was a wonderful way to get acquainted with different styles of Chinese opera. In particular, the famous act with the rapidly changing masks (Face Changing) was impressive and absolutely worth seeing! The ticket price was very affordable, so in terms of value for money, this is a great place to be. Do keep in mind what to expect, though: those looking for a large-scale, massive show should look elsewhere, but of course, you will pay a lot more for that. For a cozy, authentic, and affordable cultural experience, this is definitely recommended.

The booking process and admission are incredibly easy, making it an absolutely worthwhile experience for those interested in learning about Chinese theater and performance culture. There are screens with English translations to help you understand the sung and spoken texts. The mask changing show is beautiful and moving! There are also freebies included with admission (souvenirs/ear cleaning/massage). Highly recommended!
