This time, I opted for a one-day private car tour of Jakarta with a Chinese-speaking driver. The tour included visits to Mini Indonesia Indah, the Jakarta Mosque, Merdeka Square, museums, and the Old City, and the experience exceeded my expectations. The driver was very nice, the car was clean, the air conditioning was great, and he even arrived at the hotel early to wait for us. We communicated smoothly in Chinese throughout the tour and he also helped recommend restaurants. Mini Indonesia Indah is quite large; a tour truly felt like visiting a miniature version of Indonesia. The Istiqlal Mosque was magnificent and very photogenic. There were no shopping stops or hidden charges throughout the tour. I highly recommend hiring a private car if you're traveling with elderly people or children, or if you don't want to squeeze onto public transportation. The day was well-paced and not too rushed.

Overall, I was satisfied with the trip; the driver was accommodating and very friendly. It was just too expensive. I thought Ctrip would be reliable, but the premium was almost double… I can only console myself by paying an extra 300 yuan for a one-day insurance.
