Taste of China is located on the B1 floor of the Old Municipal Council Building on the Bund in Shanghai. This immersive cultural dining experience, unveiled with the participation of Trip.com founder James Liang, aims to create an "edible landmark" for inbound travelers. Since its opening, it has attracted over 8,400 travelers from 79 countries and regions worldwide, with a satisfaction rate exceeding 90%, making it highly popular among international guests.
Immersive dining experience: An approx. 2-hour dinner featuring a seven-course Chinese omakase menu inspired by China's seven major regions. Each of the 7 dishes corresponds to a scene, with 270° panoramic projections showcasing China's landscapes throughout the meal—majestic views like the Yellow River waterfall and Guilin's misty peaks surrounding you. Interactive tabletops allow participation in cultural activities such as paper-cutting. Each course is paired with live performances—Sichuan opera face-changing, Shaolin kung fu, water sleeve dance, and traditional dances rotate in rapid succession, with a new act approx. every 5 minutes. The meal is guided by virtual panda chef "Cheng Baobao," with the storyline presented in English, making it ideal for international travelers.
