Reviews: Dublin: Book of Kells, Dublin Castle and Christ Church Tour
Guest User2026-10-18
Dave was a great guide, friendly and knowledgeable. The group size was nice and we covered quite some sights and walked a lot. It would have been nice to enter some of the main sights visited from exterior but we received nice explanation from Dave with recommendations when visiting them afterwards. Also he didn’t guide us inside the Book of Kells where only guides from Trinity are allowed but he gave very good explanations in advance so seeing the exhibition was positive because we already knew what to expect. I would certainly recommend this tour but it’s good to be clear that no other sights except the Book of Kells will actually be visited inside.

We were really looking forward to the tour, booked it spontaneously, and weren't disappointed. The food was delicious, and the presenter was funny and friendly. We would definitely do the tour again.

I was very happy with the visit, but when it came time for the tasting, an employee spoke to us very coldly, as if we were minors. We were indeed adults, which I can understand, but there's a way to say things!

I did the tour with a small group (4~ people total), with Alan (with the yellow hat), and it was fantastic! Jameson was definitely the highlight of the tour in my opinion. Its a great way to spend an afternoon. Alan had an area reserved for us and was able to get us in ahead of schedule which is always nice, and was able to add some additional stops along the way to Guinness (like the Brazen Head) where we were able to have some time to grab food and a drink! He was super knowledgeable about the area and the history of Dublin, Jameson, and Guinness and told us some stories and some facts they leave out of the tours. He was a very friendly guy, we had some great conversations. Having Alan made the experience much more memorable and much more personable. I probably wouldn't remember as much as if I walked aimlessly around the Guinness Store house. I'd definitely recommend the tour to anyone who has the time to spare!
