Once you see the ‘natural entrance' to this cave, the means of entry for the intrepid cave explorers of the 1950's, you will appreciate the incredible task they faced in opening up this spectacular cave to the public. You'll also hear stories of the now-extinct ‘Tasmanian Tigers' that fell into the cave and met a dark and lonely fate. Jewel Cave is the largest show cave in Western Australia and is also home to one of the longest straw stalactites found in any tourist cave in Australia.
Guided tours unveil the breathtaking magnitude of three immense chambers decorated with towering crystal creations, delicate stalactites, stalagmites, helictites, and beautifully coloured shawls that have taken thousands of years to form. Hear stories of now-extinct Tasmanian Tigers that fell into the cave and perished long ago.
Your awe-inspiring crystal journey is perfectly complemented by the option of a self-guided karri forest walk through the towering forest giants, an excellent place to discover the region's unique wildflowers in winter and spring.
