Encountering Yele Lake, Immersed in a Highland Paradise
Driving to Yele Lake in Mianning, I finally discovered this hidden highland paradise nestled among the mountains of Liangshan. This alpine lake, at an altitude of 2,600 meters, is known as the "Little Switzerland of Western Sichuan." Far from the hustle and bustle of the city, it retains its pristine natural scenery, allowing one's heart to slowly find peace.
Looking at the entire lake area, the clear water resembles a giant sapphire, quietly set amidst the rolling mountains. The crystal-clear blue surface ripples under the sunlight, reflecting the blue sky, white clouds, and distant snow-capped mountains. White clouds drift slowly among the mountains, the snow-capped peaks are clearly defined, and the interplay of mountains and water creates a vast and magnificent natural landscape. Surrounded by green mountains, the slopes are lush with vegetation, and layers of primeval forests stretch as far as the eye can see. The air is fresh and cool, and the refreshing breeze dispels the fatigue of the journey.
Strolling leisurely along the vast alpine meadows by the lake, soft, verdant grass carpets the shore. Herds of cattle and sheep graze peacefully, undisturbed by the outside world. Wildflowers of various colors dot the meadows, swaying gently in the breeze. Here, there are no crowds of tourists, no overly commercialized facilities; only the rustling of the wind through the grass and the low mooing of cattle and sheep—a serene and tranquil scene. I sit on a grassy slope by the lake, gazing at the water and distant mountains, letting the mountain breeze carry away all my worries.
Near the lake, the water is crystal clear, its reflection sharp and complete. A lone tree stands on the shore, its branches outstretched, accompanying the water. In the distance, ancient Yi villages are scattered, their wooden houses nestled against the mountains and beside the water, blending seamlessly with the natural landscape, exuding a unique, rustic charm. Occasionally, low-hanging clouds and thin mist drifted over the mountains, veiling the lake in a hazy glow, making the landscape ethereal and dreamlike, like a paradise on earth.
As the sun slowly set, its soft light bathed the lake, giving it a warm, shimmering sheen. Looking back at this tranquil lake, I deeply felt the healing power of nature. Yele Lake lacks the hustle and bustle of famous scenic spots, its pure landscape composed only of snow-capped mountains, lakes, and grasslands. This trip, wandering amidst mountains and waters, far from the hustle and bustle of the world, allowing me to relax my mind and body in the wilderness, and experiencing the comfort of returning to nature, will remain a cherished memory for a long time.
