It was founded in the late Western Jin Dynasty by Li Xiong (reigned 304-334) of the Han Dynasty (304-347) of the Sixteen Kingdoms to commemorate Zhuge Liang, the Wuhou, who was the Prime Minister of Shu in the Three Kingdoms. It was later moved to its current location, adjacent to the Zhaolie Temple of Liu Bei (161-223), the former ruler of Shu. It was absorbed into the Zhaolie Temple in the early Ming Dynasty. Therefore, the plaque on the main gate reads "Han Zhaolie Temple." Of course, Liu Bei was the lord, but because people had a strong admiration for Zhuge Kongming, it is commonly called the "Wuhou Shrine" after Kongming's posthumous name "Zhong Wuhou."The existing palace dates back to the 11th year of the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty (1672).As Du Fu (712-770) wrote in "The Prime Minister," "Where may I seek the ancestral hall of the Prime Minister? Outside the Jinguan City there are a forest of oak trees." Amidst an elegant atmosphere surrounded by lush old oak trees, blue tiles and red walls can be seen glimpsing, and a majestic palace stands tall.Entering the main gate, you will find the Liu Bei Hall. There is a gold-painted statue of Liu Bei, and statues of Guan Yu and Zhang Fei are placed in the east and west side halls, and statues of 28 Shu civil servants and military commanders are lined up in the east and west corridors. A brief history is written in front of each statue, so it is fun to look at it while remembering the Three Kingdoms drama.Behind the Liu Bei Hall is the Zhuge Liang Hall. In the center is a gold-plated statue of Wu Hou, and on either side are statues of his son Zhuge Guo and grandson Zhuge Shang.To the west of Zhuge Liang Hall is Liu Bei's Huiling Mausoleum. The height of the enclosure is 12 meters.
