Guide Wang's explanations of the Forbidden City are incredibly professional! He effortlessly connects the historical context of the Ming and Qing dynasties with the architectural regulations of the palaces, providing detailed and thorough explanations of everything from mortise and tenon joinery to court anecdotes. His presentations are engaging and insightful, avoiding rote memorization. The itinerary is well-planned, avoiding crowds and allowing you to discover lesser-known facts. He patiently answers questions throughout, maintaining a perfect pace. Following him on a tour of the Forbidden City not only lets you see the sights but also deepens your understanding of the cultural heritage behind them – a truly enriching experience!

Very good, beyond expectations, chose a cheap group, the tour guide communicated in advance, good service, serious, suitable for families with children. It was just very cold, freezing. From opening to almost 12 o'clock, satisfied, worth the money.

Without exaggeration, this was the best guided tour I've ever had! A huge shout-out to tour guide Liu Qian! From the very beginning, she started with a lively and engaging monologue, instantly capturing everyone's attention and creating a vibrant atmosphere. Throughout the tour, Liu Qian not only explained the history, architecture, and anecdotes of the Forbidden City clearly, but also used a storytelling style to transform dry historical figures and events into vivid stories, keeping us completely engrossed and captivated. After three hours, I didn't feel tired at all; in fact, I wanted more. You could truly feel Liu Qian's passion for history and culture, and this enthusiasm deeply moved us. If you visit the Forbidden City, definitely hire Liu Qian as your guide!

Mary reached out the day before via WhatsApp and answered my logistic questions. Overall I’m very happy I joined her tour. She is patient, upbeat, and explained well without being overwhelming. Perhaps I’m out of shape, but this ~5 hours walking tour was intense during the last hour or so. Be sure to wear comfiest shoes and bundled up! Also I’m glad Mary’s notes did mention bringing drinks and snacks with you. The snack shops inside the Forbidden City were too long to wait.

This time, our group of six chose the Xiucai Shuo private tour for our Forbidden City trip, and it was fantastic and well worth it! Our guide, Mr. Chen, provided incredibly detailed explanations, starting from the Meridian Gate and continuing through the newly opened Hall of Mental Cultivation, Palace of Earthly Tranquility, and Palace of Gathering Elegance. It was packed with knowledge! Mr. Chen was also very kind and took many photos for us. The only downside was that the four hours went by too quickly; it definitely wasn't enough. Next time we're in Beijing, we'll definitely book another tour with Mr. Chen from Xiucai Shuo for such amazing explanations! Our family loved it! ❤️
