Reviews: [Official ticket] JR Pass Takayama & Hokuriku area rail pass 5-day (free SF Express shipping/Akihabara pickup)
Guest User2025-09-06
This positive review is for Ctrip, not the product itself. The JR pass itself isn't the problem; it covers JR, Shinkansen, and buses. However, not all service personnel from these three companies are familiar with the pass's coverage. On our trip from Shirakawa to Kanazawa, we encountered a Nohi Bus driver who wouldn't accept our tickets and reservation number. I provided the reservation number and phone booking information, and although the driver had our names recorded in his booking book, he didn't accept it and still insisted we buy tickets to board. This was the last bus from Shirakawa to Kanazawa that day: 17:55, while station staff had already left at 17:30. Without any customer service, the driver demanded we buy tickets, otherwise he wouldn't let us board. Because we hadn't booked accommodation in Shirakawa, we had no choice but to buy tickets on the bus. That same day, I contacted Ctrip with relevant proof, requesting an explanation and solution from the supplier. After a long ten-day wait, during which the supplier raised countless seemingly legitimate but ultimately evasive questions: incorrect train number, incorrect booking name, requiring on-site resolution... I provided corresponding evidence for each of these points, and Ctrip customer service negotiated and understood the situation multiple times. Ultimately, I believe Ctrip helped cover the cost. I deeply appreciate and acknowledge the responsible attitude of the Ctrip team in resolving the issue. However, I would like to offer an objective evaluation of my experience with this product: This trip was Nagoya-Takayama-Shirakawa-Kanazawa-Nagoya, a five-day trip. For this route, the cost difference between buying individual tickets and using a JR Pass is minimal. For the Kanazawa-Nagoya leg, you can transfer at Tsuruga, and the JR Pass can also be used for the Tsuruga-Nagoya leg. It's recommended to redeem the six reserved seats on the train one day in advance. If you also plan to visit Toyama and Osaka, the ticket price is reasonable, but visiting so many places in five days would be a rushed experience. This ticket is more convenient for trains than buses, as buses require phone reservations, which carries the risk of information entry errors (mine was missing a letter in my name). However, I also saw people using their phones to provide reservation information on-site; I'm not sure which website they used. This is the longest review I've ever written, and it ultimately met my expectations. However, compared to buying it separately, the cost-effectiveness is obvious, considering the time and effort involved.

Reviews: [Official ticket] JR Pass Tateyama Kurobe, Takayama & Matsumoto area rail pass 5-day (free SF Express shipping/Akihabara pickup)

This trip didn't really pay off, but the pass itself was convenient. When picking up your ticket at Shin-Osaka Station, be careful to distinguish between JR Tokai and JR West.

Reviews: Osaka Amazing Pass | Visit attractions such as Osaka Castle Main Tower and Umeda Sky Building Floating Garden Observation Deck

This was my third time visiting the Abeno Observatory. The first time, I brought my wife and daughter, and we arrived just in time for sunset—a breathtakingly beautiful golden spectacle. This time, I went alone at night. The city lights twinkled brilliantly, stretching all the way to the horizon. My mind entered a state of tranquility. Sitting in front of the glass with a coffee and dessert, I felt a sense of awe and wonder. Abeno cured my fear of heights! Highly recommended!

Reviews: Kansai railway pass lite (2026 new edition) 2-day/3-day pass (formerly Kansai thru pass)
Guest User2026-10-16
This ticket covers a wide area, from Himeji, Kobe, Nara, Wakayama, Osaka Umeda to Kyoto, allowing you to explore the entire Kansai region with just one ticket – extremely convenient. Except for JR lines, it can be used on all other private railways, making it more flexible for travel planning. You can take the Hanshin Railway to Kobe and Tarumi Outlet for shopping sprees, or take the Osaka Metro directly to the Hankyu Railway to Kyoto's Kawaramachi area. The Keihan Railway can take you to Kadoma Outlet and Hirakata Park, and you can even take the Osaka Monorail to Expo Memorial Park for Lalaport – truly a worthwhile investment. However, starting this year, the ticket usage has changed from a physical ticket to a QR code e-ticket on your mobile phone. Once activated, the ticket must be used consecutively, unlike the previous physical ticket which allowed for split-day use. This is somewhat limiting, and you must ensure your phone has sufficient battery power before traveling, otherwise, it won't work. Overall, if you need to travel to attractions/locations that are relatively far away, purchasing this ticket is definitely the first choice, and it's easy to get your money's worth. I would recommend it to friends and family who come to Kansai for tourism.

Reviews: JR PASS Kansai Area 1/2/3/4-Day Rail Pass (WEST QR Code Entry)
Guest User2026-10-16
Looking for the most cost-effective way to manage internet and transportation abroad? This lightweight eSIM plan with 500MB per day is the perfect choice. For just over ten dollars, you can enjoy the convenience of digital internet access without any hassle! The worst thing about traveling abroad is landing without internet. Not only can you not check maps, but it's also a hassle to unlock your pre-purchased transportation passes or subway QR codes. With this super-cheap eSIM, you'll have seamless connectivity as soon as you arrive. Whether you're opening a transit navigation app, checking train schedules, or simply showing your pre-purchased transportation pass or ticket QR code at the gate, everything is done instantly and without interruption. While the 500MB data allowance is modest, it's more than enough for independent travelers who need to check train schedules and transfer information frequently. It completely eliminates the hassle of switching to a physical SIM card, so you won't be flustered when transferring at unfamiliar stations. For less than a fraction of the price of a drink, you can unlock a new smart travel experience with "instant internet access + smooth rides". I highly recommend you try it for yourself!
