Host Introduction
Hi, I'm Ruixi, a resident food nerd at Lost Plate Food Tours! My friends and I run top-rated food experiences that take you off the beaten path to the best local eateries we've discovered in China. General Tso's Chicken and Sweet and Sour Pork are popular myths of Chinese cuisine, so join us to experience what locals eat and discover truly authentic Chinese flavors. We're different from everyone else because we do this for fun and also as a profession. This means I take every aspect of our experience seriously to guarantee you have an incredible and authentic time. We tell the story behind each dish and visit genuine, family-run restaurants, all while sipping a cold beer and soaking in the vibrant local life. Welcome to China, and I hope to eat with you soon!

Experience process
Beijing can feel like a fortress, and we're not talking about its massive walls or population. In a city that feels endless, with a formidable history and sizeable language barrier, it's tricky to get a glimpse of real life here.
For a few hours, pull back the curtain and live in the real Beijing. See the sights and smells that have been a long-time mainstay in Beijing's hutongs, and start your morning the way millions have for generations. With at least 7 different stops, you'll get a broad taste of the real Beijing, from super-traditional breakfasts to our trendy coffee house scene. Dogs are out picking each other up for play dates, uncles are taking their birds for walks in their cages, doorways with old horse ties and shrines tell you about the family history of residents, eat in tiny holes in the walls, and try over a dozen different breakfast items Beijingers love.
Plus More Surprises!
* This itinerary is subject to changes and adjustments based on daily vendor operations and availability, but it will always be awesome.
