In this cooking class, we'll guide you through the entire process from dough-making to steaming, helping you recreate authentic Shanghai-style Xiao Long Bao with thin wrappers, generous fillings, and abundant savory broth!


What you'll learn during your experience:
Fail-proof dough - Master the golden ratio of water to flour;
The secret to juicy fillings - The scientific ratio of pork + aspic, revealing how to make each dumpling hide the surprise of "a sip of soup".
Aesthetics of shaping class: Learn the "chrysanthemum top" pleating technique (18–22 pleats recommended) and create adorable little "ingots" with your own hands.
Key steaming techniques: Steam control and heat management to avoid common mistakes like broken wrappers and exposed fillings.

Hi everyone, I'm Mike, an EatWith host in Shanghai with extensive kitchen experience. However, I found working solely in kitchens unsatisfying due to my passion for interacting with people. After leaving the kitchen where I worked for over a decade, I started my own culinary studio. My goal is to introduce authentic Chinese cuisine to more international guests. Here we offer not only xiaolongbao but also many traditional dishes like zongzi, creative dumplings, spring roll making, and cooking classes featuring Shanghai and Huaiyang cuisines.
