The trip was fantastic, and I really want to give a special shout-out to our driver and guide! Mr. Zaxi Langji (************) was incredibly kind! He picked us up promptly at 3 PM. Even though it was pitch black on the mountain roads, he drove very steadily. I took a nap in the car, and he woke us up to get out and see the stars. He even gave us clothes and oxygen tanks because he was worried we were cold. He took us to Feilai Temple on time, where we saw the sunrise over the golden mountains. He diligently took us to every other scenic spot afterwards and reminded us to take photos. He was such a wonderful driver, highly recommended!

I was incredibly lucky to meet driver Yunru3365 on this trip. Although it was a pity the weather wasn't cooperating and we didn't see the sunrise over the mountains, the experience was fantastic. The driver's skills were excellent; he drove smoothly on winding mountain roads, ensuring a comfortable and safe ride throughout. He was warm, easy to communicate with, and thoughtfully reminded me of important things to note. The itinerary was well-planned, allowing ample time for sightseeing. He was attentive, reliable, and easy to get along with. I had a very enjoyable trip and highly recommend him!

I participated in a day trip from Shangri-La to Meili Snow Mountain to watch the sunrise. The tour itinerary went as planned, with the bus arriving at the north entrance of the old town at 2:30 AM, and returning a little earlier than scheduled, around 1:10 PM. One of the best things about this tour is that it arrives at the observation deck earlier than any other tour bus. Thanks to this, I was able to watch the sunrise from the front row. (Other tour buses arrived 15 minutes after we did, and it got quite crowded.) The driver, Yang Guiquan, drove appropriately, and I didn't get carsick. He also kept me informed of meeting times and other details via WeChat in a way that was easy for a foreigner like me to understand. The only thing I would like to suggest is that it would be great if the meeting time for the sunrise could be delayed by another 10 minutes. The sunrise was at 7:22 AM, and the meeting time was 7:40 AM. Since it takes 5 minutes to get to the bus, I only had about 13 minutes to really enjoy the sunrise. However, I was completely satisfied with everything else. Thank you! 🙏

Manage your expectations before booking this tour. I checked the weather forecast and knew the chances of seeing stars, the mountains and golden sunrise at Meili were slim to none. I decided to chance it and went anyway. True enough, we encountered cloud cover that hid the stars and mountains, and golden sunrise. The late morning was much better. We saw some really nice scenery. My 3am pickup is at Dukezong North Gate, but they can also pickup from the East Gate. Do be aware of the cancellation policy before booking this tour in case the weather suddenly turns bad. Sufficient toilet breaks and rest time are factored into the tour. I don't know why but the tour ended earlier than stated.

Was worth it to be able to see a different part of Shangrila away from the main tourist areas near town. However it could be a bit tiring for a day trip as the journey takes a long time. The scenery made it worth it. I also liked how we were able to customize the tour to suit our timing while our guide was very informative and enthusiastic.
