Reviews: [June Mercedes-Benz Mid-Levels Special Price] Melbourne Great Ocean Road Trail + Twelve Apostles Day Trip
Guest User2026-07-28
The beauty of the Great Ocean Road lies in its vastness and openness, forcing you to temporarily leave behind the troubles of the world. To your left, the towering waves of the Southern Ocean crash against ancient cliffs; to your right, lush rainforest cascades down the mountain ridges. Driving along it feels like watching a nature documentary without narration. The most unforgettable sunset is at the Twelve Apostles. As the light bathes the limestone in golden light, and the waves roar beneath your feet, you truly understand the meaning of "the great beauty of nature is silent." On the return journey, kangaroos leap into the jungle at dusk, leaving a trail of rustling sounds. At that moment, you feel: life is worthwhile, and so is the journey.

The tour was excellent and Warren our guide was highly entertaining and thorough. The morning tea was a juice box and a cookie, so bring snacks as the first place for food is the lunch stop around 11:30. Beware, the route is very winding/curving along the coast. If you experience motion sickness, please take note. It would be ideal if your operators could mention this on the "What to Expect" or "Additional Information" sections. The bus is cramped in the last 2 rows, you are not able to see through the front as these rows are lower than all the others. But the tour was excellent. The Gorge, and Twelve Apostles are breathtaking. Easy walking even for a senior. The forest walk in a loop in the rain forest and can be steep at moments. We were able to spot koalas along the roadside, as well as kangaroos.

The trip was wonderful, due to the fact that it was the off-season, we didn’t visit some places, but there were still enough impressions
