Everything was perfectly organized, and the crew was very friendly. The explanations were easy to understand, and we could ask questions at any time. The boat trip to our first whale watching spot lasted about 30-40 minutes. We were lucky enough to see several humpback whales swimming around and under our boat for a while – you can't get any closer! An absolutely breathtaking experience! Afterwards, we went out a little further to see hundreds of baby dolphins – amazing! During the trip, it was about 10 degrees cooler than at the harbor – we were wearing several layers and had a hat with us, so we didn't get cold. Unfortunately, we didn't see any more whales after that, but the encounters were more than worth it!

My wife and I are travelling through California for our honeymoon and I had to do a Monterey Bay whale watch. We booked a half day trip with Discovery based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. The crew were great, giving lots of local knowledge as well as the important info and facts about the whales we were about to see as well as the others we might see. When we did see whales, and we saw over 20 during our trip, we got close enough to see them without disturbing them. We also saw what we were told was the best feeding event seen all year with Humpbacks lunging from the surface to feed. The sea lions were never too far away also who are great fun to watch. Despite the sea fog we had a fantastic trip, one that I will never forget. Thanks Discovery Whale Watch!

Awesome! Simple awesome fun time. We started w/ renting 2 ebikes for a couple of hours while we waited for our guided kayak tour. I apologize for not getting his name, but the shop manager was polite & helpful in getting us booked, signing the liability waiver, setting our expectations of what we could see. Jan was our excellent guide. She's an area resident since she was a teenager and knows all about the habitat, behavior, and ocean environment. I'll be requesting her specifically next time.
