The tour pick up and drop off from hotels at CBD area, it is convenient. The puffing Billy train ride is so fun but only for one station. Redwood forest and Yarra Valley are nice too.

Reviews: Melbourne Puffing Billy Train + Redwood Forest + Yarra Valley Winery English Day Tour in Australia
Guest User2026-09-07
A great tour that covers three locations: a historic steam train (the ride isn't long, but it's enough to enjoy the forest), a redwood forest, and a winery where they offer a single glass of wine. Wild kangaroos hop through the vineyards.

Love this eSIM. Just press install and on the data roaming upon landing and ready to use. Very cheap. And you can monitor through the trip app your usage and remaining data.

Reviews: Half-Day Tour to Puffing Billy Railway in Melbourne, Australia [Quick Visit/Round-Trip from City]
Guest User2026-08-19
A great half-day tour. They picked us up from the hotel around 7 am, with about a dozen people on the bus. The driver, Dan, was very nice; he didn't rush us or seem to be reciting a script. The train was one of those really old wooden carriages, from 1900. You could sit on the window sill and dangle your legs out. At first, I thought it was just a gimmick, but it turned out really good—the breeze was especially nice. When we got to the wooden bridge, everyone on the bus was taking pictures. After the train arrived, we had free time by the lake. I bought a coffee, sat for a while, soaked up the sun, and the kids fed the ducks. The pace was very leisurely. We were back in the city before 1 pm, so we could do some shopping in the afternoon. A must-see for families with children. Just be aware that it gets very crowded during holidays, so book early.
