An exceptional and unforgettable experience Our visit to Mitsuboshi Cutlery in Seki was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. We were personally welcomed by Mr. Watanabe, CEO of Mitsuboshi, whose family has been making knives for five generations. He shared with us the challenges facing Japanese cutlery today and the story behind Nagomi, the new brand he created from his wifeโ€™s vision. The factory was fascinating: advanced technology alongside traditional craftsmanship, with young artisans demonstrating remarkable precision. But the highlight was seeing and even handling samurai swords from his family collection, including one over 500 years old. A deeply moving moment and a rare glimpse into a heritage that can no longer be fully reproduced today. An extraordinary welcome, a fascinating story, and a truly unforgettable experience.

Our tour guide, Kaku, was incredibly dedicated and responsible โ€“ absolutely fantastic! Highly recommended! ๐Ÿ‘ He provided commentary three times, in Chinese, English, and Japanese, and even reminded us which restaurants were good, which were average, and where to go first. He also distributed electronic maps and tourist brochures. I've participated in other local Japanese Gassho-zukuri village bus tours before, and none of the guides were this attentive. The itinerary included a 10-minute photo opportunity at the observation deck before continuing to the village, saving us the 30-minute round trip hike! ๐Ÿ˜‚ This time, I didn't expect to have to climb to the observation deck myself, so the time spent in the village felt a bit rushed. But Kaku was wonderful โ€“ highly recommended! ๐Ÿ‘

The entire itinerary was well-organized and efficient. We visited three attractions in one day, and the scenery was beautiful and charming. It was especially nice to have a Chinese tour leader in a foreign land, and hearing the explanations at the scenic spots was very heartwarming. Tour leader Zhang Lizhu provided attentive and enthusiastic service, always considerate of everyone's needs, and resolved any questions raised, which added to the enjoyment of the trip. It was a great experience, and I would definitely book a tour through Ctrip again next time I have the chance.
