Upon arrival at your destination, turn off your Taiwanese mobile data and switch to eSIM to activate the service. When using it in Naha City and Ishigaki Island, Okinawa, it mostly operates on 5G, sometimes slowing down to 4G.
When the speed is reduced, playing games (Pokémon, Shopee) may experience slight lag, but navigation and finding addresses are fine.★

Of course, we had our doubts. We were worried we might suddenly lose connection. But no, everything's fine. We're in China now. The internet is excellent, even on the Simatai section of the Great Wall. While we were on the train, the network briefly went out, but we didn't really need it then and there. We're heading to Vietnam in a few days; I'll tell you about it in my reviews of the second E-SIM.
