Very Pretty Tree Arch
This is a pretty little Banyan tree arch over the road, and especially picturesque in the summer sun. Definitely worth a look if you are in the area, but may not merit a particularly long trip.
I felt it was a very mysterious and sacred place. It may be overstatement, but only there is an atmosphere that seems to appear in Princess Mononoke of Ghibli, and you can hear birds singing throughout the island, but it is quiet because it is a little far from the main street and "in nature". " I had a strong feeling and personally thought it was the best spot on the island. It's located in the north of the island, and if you're based in the south, you have to aim for it, but I'm glad I went.
There's no parking lot, it's hard to find the location in the wooden tunnel.

It may be difficult to find the location because it enters further from the road in the town on the sea side from the main road. There is a small sign at the entrance, but it is easy to miss. The arch is a tunnel that crosses the road and is very nice, but if you go by car, there is no parking lot and the road width is narrow, so if you walk, the road width is wide and does not interfere with the traffic. Stop the car It would be good to see it in a short time.
I like big trees, and when I go on a trip, I go around big banyan trees and jackal trees. I saw many trees on Tanegashima, but I'm the No. 1 spot on Tanegashima. The tree that fell for some reason lay down and it felt like it had rooted down on the other side of the road. It is a tremendous vitality.
It is a place you will miss if you don't look at the signboard of the main road. As the name suggests, it is a rare place where giant Akonoki crosses the road. It is a more mysterious place with greenery on rainy days.
