What a fantastic street and area - the buildings and layout make it feel really authentic and a great insight into the historical city. It’s a shame that so many of the shops now sell plastic tourist ‘tat’ but there’s still plenty of interesting stores along the way and fortunately none of the sellers are pushy or encouraging you in anywhere. Although it is somewhat commercialised I didn’t find it too much to remove any of the charm or atmosphere. Admiring the buildings in this entire area is a fascinating experience. It’s also central in the city to be in the perfect location for exploring other great sights, so there really isn’t an excuse for not passing through; it certainly was one of the highlights of my visit! #shanghaitrip

#shanghaitrip As we are getting past summer and had good amount of rain ☔ showers in Shanghai, it's time to enjoy those last bit of 🌇 sunset orangy evening patches appear in the sky with none other than the beloved Bund skyline. Actually it has been quite a while since I have gone to the Bund, but we made a sudden plan to go in search of the famous 🐈 cat murals 🎨 in Shanghai old street as recommended by one of our friends. But unfortunately, those mural walls 🧱 are covered for restoration. As we were feeling down, the sight of Shanghai tower with setting sun 🌞 kissing the glossy buildings brought the total delight and wooed us to the default-crowded 😁 Bund arena. Yesterday was the last day that the popular 'Cat Street' in Shanghai was open. I've seen a lot of videos and pictures posted online before, and I found them very creative! Especially the video shot by Professor Feng Liping from Shanghai Normal University, which turned an ordinary and simple road (Fangbang Middle Road~ In our childhood memories, this street was 'prominent', together with Fuyou Road, they supported the bustling market of the old City God Temple) into a desirable check-in place for tourists! Therefore, I took advantage of the cool weather yesterday morning and went to join in the fun. Actually, the murals don't have deep connotations, but the comics are sigh-inducing. However, clever tourists, coupled with various creative designs, immediately make it 'endlessly memorable'! Let's talk about cats: these animals are naturally likable, and now they have become the perfect companions for homeowners!
