Lion Rock is named because it looks like a lion. There is a cave in the rock that can accommodate dozens of people. In the cave, there are crisscrossing channels, vertical stone pillars, hanging stalactites, and open springs with dew drops. In the 2nd year of Qiande in the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 964), Quanzhou monk Zheng Ziyan (named Zhuoxi) once set up a monastery here, and it was named Junqingyuan during the reign of Zhenzong of the Song Dynasty. In the Southern Song Dynasty, it was also called Defining Courtyard. There are currently attractions such as He Xiangu Palace, Main Hall, and Junqing Temple.
