This lookout is also called the Yuhi no Oka observatory
This lookout on the northwest side of Yakushima has a great reputation as an area to watch the sunsets. On clear days you can look out over the East China Sea and see the island of Kuchinoerabujima. ...
It was going around Yakushima counterclockwise, and after passing the Ichiminato Beach in the northernmost part, the prefectural road that goes around the island gradually changed its direction to the southwest. On this day, we were running on a prefectural road that goes around the coastline of Yakushima. There was an East China Sea Observatory on a hill that ran from Miyanoura to the west km. It's on a slightly higher hill, so as the name suggests, it's a spot with a panoramic view of the East China Sea. At the same time, it was a place where you can see how Yakushima's mountain 々 continues to the immediate vicinity of the sea.
