Rent Nyonya outfits in Penang and take photos across two indoor floors — traveler post in Bayan Lepas

Rent Nyonya outfits in Penang and take photos across two indoor floors

If you're coming to Penang and want to take Nyonya-style photos without spending hundreds or thousands on a professional studio, I've found a hidden gem✨ I just rented the outfit this time, and the shooting location was included. It's perfect for those who just want to take their own photos and get great shots easily👇 🌿 The outfits are classic Nyonya Kebaya I chose an avocado green top with a red batik skirt. The embroidery is exquisite, and the shop also has hair accessories, oil-paper umbrellas, and round fans you can use, so you don't need to bring your own props. 🏠 You can shoot across two full indoor floors With carved screens, blue and white porcelain vases, vintage lamps, and antique wooden furniture, every corner is full of Nanyang Nyonya vibes. There are so many photo spots you'll never run out of options. ❄️ The best part: It's fully air-conditioned! Penang is hot and sunny, and your makeup will melt after five minutes outside. Here, you can take your time in the cool air. Your makeup stays perfect, you stay fresh, and you'll get even better photos. 📷 Just use your phone or camera. No need to wait for a photographer or rush—take as long as you want. It's truly great value. Outfit + location + air conditioning + props are all included for about 70 per person. It saves you a ton compared to a full photoshoot package💰 For all the ladies coming to Penang who want to experience Nyonya style, you can definitely follow this guide. Go for it without hesitation🤍

Olive Tree Hotel Penang — Worth Every Single Moment of the Trip 🛁 — traveler post in Bayan Lepas

Olive Tree Hotel Penang — Worth Every Single Moment of the Trip 🛁

A newer hotel in Bayan Lepas that quietly does everything well. 🌇 The view Suites face out over the city toward the hills, and the sunsets from the window seat are genuinely good. This is a hotel where you should book a higher floor and then actually sit in the room for an hour. 🛁 The bathtub Free-standing, with a wooden tray across it. After a day of Georgetown heat this is the correct way to end an evening. 🏊 The pool Unusual — it has transparent glass side panels, which makes swimming in it a slightly strange and very fun experience. 🍳 Breakfast A wide buffet with a lot of choice and consistently praised. The local dishes are the ones to try. 🛏️ The rooms Large, spotless, and well equipped — separate living areas in the suites, with a dining table and a proper sofa. This is a new-build and it still feels it. 📍 Location Fifteen minutes from Penang airport with no traffic to fight, and directly opposite the SPICE Arena and Convention Centre. Practical rather than scenic, which is exactly what it is designed for. 👋 Service Well-trained front desk and good room service — the sort of hotel that runs smoothly without drama. ✅ Tips ✅ Book a suite with the bathtub and the hill view ✅ 15 minutes to the airport, ideal for an early departure ✅ Eat local in Bayan Lepas — the food here is excellent and cheap ✅ Georgetown is a 30-minute Grab ✅ Great value compared with equivalent Georgetown hotels Bathtub with a view, must-have or nice extra? 🛁 #penang #malaysia #hotel #travel #hotdiscussions #travel2026#travel#staycation

#penangspots #NyonyaWillow #PenangFoodie #BayanLepasEats #NyonyaCuisine #TravelEatsPenang #HeritageFoodPenang #PeranakanCuisine #PenangDining The place is Nyonya Willow at Bayan Lepas, a restaurant that celebrates the rich flavors of Peranakan cuisine. Stepping inside, the setting immediately feels warm and homely, with décor that reflects the heritage and culture behind the food. The menu features classic Nyonya dishes—think fragrant curries, sambal, and flavorful stews that balance spices with a comforting touch. What stood out for me was the attention to detail: every dish carried that homemade feel, with robust flavors that were neither watered down nor overly commercialized. Sweet Escape in Bayan Lepas – My Dessert Stop at Sweet Talk

#holidayitinerary #SweetTalkDessert #ArenaCurveTreats #PenangDesserts #TaiwanThaiFusion #LateNightDesserts #SweetCorner I recently stopped by Sweet Talk at Arena Curve, Bayan Lepas, for a mid-afternoon dessert treat, and it felt like a cozy modern lounge for dessert lovers. The menu spans chilling Taiwanese and Thai-style treats, along with waffles and traditional tong shui. What I loved most was how balanced the sweetness is—not too much, perfect if you’re watching your sugar rush. I tried their mango sago. The bowl was refreshing and smooth—the sweetness of the ripe mango blended perfectly with the creamy base and chewy sago pearls. It wasn’t overly sweet, which I really liked, and felt light enough to enjoy even after a meal. Good place when you’re craving something sweet without the cloying heaviness. Travel Tips & How to Get There · Where: Located inside Arena Curve Mall, Bayan Lepas—easy to spot near the F&B area. · Best time to visit: Afternoon for calmer crowds, or later if you’re heading for supper. · Suggested orders: Try the ginger taro tong shui or mochi waffle. Less sweet, more satisfying. · Note: Some customers mentioned the waffles came soggy and some ingredients sold out—so go early if you can.

A Beautiful Moment: My Staycation at Amari SPICE

The Wonderful Room Waking up in my Deluxe Room at Amari SPICE Penang felt like a warm hug. The room is 28 sqm of pure comfort with lofty high ceilings that make everything feel airy and bright. Morning coffee at the desk, afternoon nap, evening movie on the big TV. Penang Around It Staying at Amari SPICE means you’re in the heart of Bayan Lepas, Penang’s new central business district, but everything beautiful is close: · 5 minutes away: SPICE Convention Centre & Arena, D'Piazza Mall and Queensbay Mall for shopping · 15-20 mins: Georgetown — the UNESCO World Heritage City with street art, Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, clan jetties, and the best char koay teow · 25 mins: Penang Hill for cool air and amazing views, Kek Lok Si Temple, Penang Botanic Gardens · 45 mins: Batu Ferringhi Beach for sunset and sea breeze Penang is that perfect mix — city energy, heritage charm, nature and beach all in one island. Penang Hill

Penang Hill (Bukit Bendera) is a historic hill station in Penang, Malaysia, rising approximately 833 meters (2,733 feet) above sea level. It offers a cool, refreshing escape from the tropical heat below, accompanied by panoramic vistas of George Town, the mainland, and the surrounding ocean. Here is a quick overview of what makes Penang Hill a must-visit destination:• The Funicular Railway: As seen in the first image, the Penang Hill Railway is the main gateway up the mountain. It features one of the steepest funicular tunnel tracks in the world, taking visitors on a swift, scenic ride up the hillside through lush greenery.• Sweeping Panoramic Views: The second and third images capture the signature experience at the peak. On clear or mist-shrouded days, the viewing decks provide spectacular vistas of the urban landscape of George Town stretching out toward the Malacca Strait.• The Habitat Penang Hill: A world-class ecotourism site located at the top, featuring an immersive rainforest canopy walk (Curtis Crest) and a network of nature trails showcasing 130-million-year-old virgin rainforest.• Cooler Climate & Heritage: Originally established by the British as a retreat, the hilltop features historic colonial bungalows, beautifully landscaped gardens, vibrant photo spots, and a significantly cooler temperature than the lowlands.

Kek Lok Si Temple

Amazing architecture, decorations. Notice! It can take 3 or 4 hours to walk around and watch all the beauty and details calmly, without hurry. It's better to go to the top by inclined lift and car, provided by the temple, but you will have to pay 8r.Recommendations: comfortable shoes, bottles of water, and snacks.

Entopia by Penang Butterfly Farm

Surprisingly, no one has recommended this place! It's incredibly interesting! There are all sorts of butterflies, and lots of insect science information. It shouldn't be translated as a butterfly garden; it's a microcosm! Many kinds of insects, plus explanations and hands-on activities—it's great and suitable for family trips.

The view from above is excellent, overlooking George Town. Especially after the film ends, the sudden open space is truly breathtaking. Shoe covers are required on the Rainbow Walk, and staff are available to help take photos for a fee.

The Habitat Penang Hill

A word of advice to everyone visiting Penang Hill: don't be foolish and try to buy tickets on-site! I learned this the hard way. There are no express tickets available on-site; the Penang Hill express lane requires advance online booking. The queue for the regular cable car was so long I almost got heatstroke, and then it started raining! Even worse, nobody reminded me that I needed to collect a separate ticket for the downhill section! Queuing for ticket checks wasted an extra half hour. Scenery: Nice Fun: The queues were too long

The TOP Penang, Theme Park Penang

Visited The Top Penang using the Super Saver Pass and it is one of the best couple activities here because indoor activities and viewing outdoor decks are all in the same place. Best highlight for me was the Skybridge. The panoramic views across the city, mountain, clouds and the sea are breathtaking. The boutique aquarium was very well-maintained too, with coral setups, feeding zones, and air-conditioned rooms. There were so many different fish, rays and also moray eels. My husband loved the Tech Dome, it's got so many hands-on exhibits and games. He even paid 15rmb extra to do the combo activities inside (G-force, G drop, wall climbing)It took us about 4 hours to finish all 11 activities inside. We arrived at around 2:00pm and finished by 6:00pm. There was a long queue at the ticket counter but since we've bought it online, we were able to redeem at the kiosk nearby. Very smooth process and helpful staff nearby.

Penang Street Art

Penang Street Art in George Town is an absolute must-visit! Walking through the vibrant streets feels like exploring an open-air contemporary museum. The interactive murals, especially the famous kids on a bicycle, are incredibly creative and blend perfectly with the historic charm of the old buildings. It is a lot of fun posing with the artwork and hunting them down around every corner. The area also has a fantastic atmosphere with lovely cafes and souvenir shops nearby. I highly recommend visiting early in the morning to beat the heat and avoid the crowds for the best photos

Penang Forest Island and Sunset Cruise

My first time in Penang, and it felt like the most unforgettable and fulfilling night of my trip! Scenery-wise, we crossed a bridge on both the outbound and return journeys. I felt the night view on the return trip was even more beautiful. Luckily, it didn't rain while we were out there, so we could enjoy the breeze at the bow of the boat. As for activities and food, there was a very comfortable hammock on the outbound journey (make sure to bring a change of clothes); then, we stopped at a large platform built near a small island, where I shared a ride in a high-speed sea car with other passengers – it was thrilling! Afterwards, we leisurely paddled in a kayak. Finally, after exercising, we enjoyed drinks, meat, and the sea breeze – very pleasant. Regarding service, the staff were all excellent. I was most impressed by our tour guide, Maggie; she was fantastic, making even solo travelers feel less lonely.
