Peace Village, in the south of Peace Street, Zhenyuan Acropolis, facing north, is composed of a group of buildings surrounded by a large wall of earth and rock. There were originally about a dozen buildings , such as Ligong Building, Auditorium, and Surveillance Tower. It used to be the Zhenyuan General Military Office of Zhongheng in the late Qing dynasty. In the early years of the Warlord Era, it was transformed as the second model prison in Guizhou Province. In the War of Resistance against Japan, it was used as the second Japanese prisoner shelter of the national government, for the purpose of receiving and disciplining Japanese prisoners of war. Japanese anti-war writer Takashi called it "Peace Village" and the name is still in use.
