It is a Kyomachiya along Ayakoji Dori street. I learned about it when I went sightseeing nearby, but it seems that there are reservations for the special opening only several times a year, so if you are interested, you should check the homepage firmly. The appearance and atmosphere were tasteful.
Kyoto's kimono shop "Naraya" was built in the early Meiji period. Currently, it is designated as a cultural property of Kyoto. However, the door was closed at the time of the visit, so it was impossible to visit.
We visited the inside for a special exhibition of Kyoto's summer trip. It is a fairly large Kyomachiya. It was a building with many highlights, such as the part that was built in the Meiji era, the tea room that was later expanded, and the room that was reborn in the Western style due to renovation. Shooting inside was prohibited.
It is recommended for those who like to visit buildings, but I don't recommend it because I think 800 yen is expensive for those who are not so much. There are many inns and restaurants that have renovated Machiya in Kyoto City now, so it doesn't feel so unusual...
If you pass through Shijo-dori, you will find the Sugimoto family residence. It is a large Kyomachiya in the Edo period. When I visited, it was during the special public opening period. I only saw it from the outside because the time didn't match, but I wanted to see it inside. If I have another chance ... It is designated as an important cultural property.

Kyomachiya, a large scale

It's a big town house of former kimono dealers.
