In the Kangjian area of Xuhui District, there is an antique park near the Shanghai Normal University, Guilin Park. Many people may think that the name of the park is from Guilin Road or Guilin City, but it is not. The park is named "Guilin Park" because of more than 20 varieties of 4,000 osmanthus trees planted in the park. Guilin Park was built in 1929 and completed in 1932. The original private villa of the old Shanghai gang leader, Huangjia Garden. After the August 13th Incident in 1937, Shanghai fell, and the buildings such as Guandi Temple, inner house, and Jingguan Temple were destroyed by the Japanese army, and a large number of trees were damaged.
