Shalom Hotel & Relax - an Atlas Boutique Hotel

We stayed at this amazing hotel for 2 nights (16th & 17th May 2023) after leaving our cruise which had travelled from Miami USA and ended in Haifa, Israel. We travelled by train from Haifa to Tel Aviv then got a taxi outside the train station directly to the Shalom Hotel & Relax at Atlas Boutique Hotel. We arrived at the hotel at 11am and were greeted at the entrance door by Yufus? Jusuf? (apologies if i spelt your name wrong) who lead us through towards the hotel reception desk. We were the first of a group from our ship who were due to stay at this hotel (booked by our travel agent) We were a group of 4 friends/2 couples. Within minutes of our arrival we were offered drink refreshments. The 2 ladies chose cappuccino and the 2 guys opted for a beer. These were quickly brought to us plus a plate of fresh baked croissants (told all were complimentary) Our receptionist (who we quickly found out had used to live in UK - Tottenham/London) was lovely, friendly and explained that although we were early as check-in isn’t usually until afternoon she would do her best to allocate us a room asap. We asked what the rooms where like as we hadn’t chosen them (our travel agent had included the 2 night in Tel Aviv in our cruise&stay package) We were informed our agent had booked the whole group into the hotels smallest/cheapest rooms, all with side views… but assured all were clean, comfortable and had all the amenities as the Front back facing rooms. We enquired about upgrading rooms and we were fortunate that we were able to negotiate/purchase an upgrade to 2 beautiful superior spa rooms (with hot-tub) on 4th floor, with sea views, facing the front of this hotel. These rooms were outstanding. Fabulous rainfall shower in bathroom, plenty of wardrobe space, really comfortable super-king size bed, minibar filled with complimentary soft drinks, a coffee/tea machine plus armchair, footstool and the fabulous hot-tub on a raised platform near the window. Also in our room was a complimentary gift of chocolates which was a lovely gesture by this hotel. A great way to spend the final days of our cruise & stay holiday. 👍👍👍👍👍 On the floor above us was a sun terrace equipped with daybed loungers, hammock, rocker chairs and table & chairs, plus gazebo and plenty of extra large sun umbrellas as/when shade was needed. The view from this terrace enabled us to see the sea and enjoy the fabulous sun sets each evening of our stay. This hotel offers it’s guests a fantastic complimentary snacks & drinks “happy hours” from 4pm till 6pm each evening in the ground-floor dining/lounge area. They provided tea, coffee, white wine, fruit juices, a selection of spirits plus an buffet of crisps, nuts, crackers, cheese, hot snacks selection, plus mini desserts of mousse, fruit and/or trifle. The buffet was constantly replenished by the kitchen staff and guests were free to help themselves to whatever was on offer during this time. Napkins, cutlery, crockery and glasses etc were av

Lets start with the good. Great location and clean, breakfast was very good. I lived in Israel for over thirty year so I am aware of the Israeli version of ”service”. That being said. We made a reservation at the sister property Leonardo beach hotel, with a sea view room. That hotel was then closed (COVID?) so we were switched to a ”comparable” sea view room at the Leonardo Art hotel for the same price. When were arrived we were informed that sea view rooms were reserved for suites only and that we received an ”upgraded” room- well, this room was a small, dingy, hovel. The price we paid for this hovel of a room was therefore outrageous. The desk staff were surly and when I asked a question she pointed to a handout and said ”its all on the sheet”. Another front desk girl was using an old handkerchief to repeatedly blow and wipe her nose while touching the phone, patrons keys etc... so much for hand hygiene during pandemic. How about a stairwell from the 3rd to 2nd floor barricaded closed by mattresses? Firetrap? (see photo) The safe in our room was obviously broken and eviscerated (see photo) Lastly there is very little signage to be able to find wither the back or front entrance to the hotel and the entrance smells like an open sewer. Just sayin... there are many better options on the Tel Aviv beach. We certainly will take advantage of them on our next visit.

Everything was exceptional, the staff, the food, the room, the location, and all the extra little thigs that made us feel so welcome. The staff was so supportive and prompt, thank you Omer and Sasha! the food at the breakfast was very good with a great variety. the room was quiet just like we asked, and the bed was super comfortable. the location was amazing, 3 min walk to the beach and very close to the city center. Will definitely come back to this hotel and recommend it with all my heart. Amazing.

A lovely little hotel located next to the Tel Aviv boardwalk - a lovely lively location full of life day and most of the night. People walking, running, bicycling, exercising, dancing on the boardwalk and on the white sand beach running along it for miles. The rooms are well maintained, very clean, the service is friendly, there is a corner with an espresso machine and fruit available all day long. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Room: Bright (in particular north facing) airy and very comfortable, daily service good. Balcony useful. Bathroom and shower good. All staff friendly and helpful. always happy to assist with large & small requests. Definitely the main reason we will return!! Lounge seating area could have more individual comfortable chairs Parking in basement a must-excellent and clean Pool area well located. Would be great to have much better dining-snack-light meal facility at pool! Access to beach - excellent WIFI in room is really poor-needs to be improved 100% Will definitely be our new base when visiting Israel - well done to all the personal!!

The staff at reception were terrible! From the very second we arrived, throughout our stay, everything we had to do with them was annoying and difficult. Partly probably due to some very strange rules (e.g we were asked to pay in advance for the rooms and not allowed to give a credit card number as security until we leave and pay with another card, which was not with us at check in, they also charged our card a security amount of €200 without even telling, let alone asking us before doing so). We’ve asked for a few things they might have for the children, and never heard back, including when we needed a thermometer for one of the children I called because I was alone with them and couldn’t go down to reception. I never heard back from them for over an hour and had to go buy one when my husband got back later on. These are just examples, it was like that with everything we needed or asked and they were generally unpleasant. Perhaps it was the overload of the second part of August? The concierge was on his mobile on a private call and we stood there for 5 minutes until deciding we better go out and get a taxi on our own. The list goes on and on....

The hotel is located on the beach in Tel Aviv. The first floor is a restaurant. It can be used in the morning and evening. The hotel does not have a lift. It is 100 meters away from the beach. Because the street is noisy, the room is very noisy. Overall, the price is very high.

The location of the hotel is close to the sea. 200 meters from the sea. It's a small hotel and the rooms are small. There is no smoking in the room, there is a small balcony where you can smoke. After staying for two days, no one did hygiene. If you don't have any requirements, you can live there. The price/performance ratio is not high. However, accommodation in Israel is more expensive. Consumption is not cheap.

The hotel was fantastic. Location superb and staff were courteous and always helpful. Our room overlooked the sea which was a bonus, it was clean and replenished daily, also with a coffee machine. Breakfast was a delightful spread of continental and local cuisine. The staff also prepared us a take out box for each member of our family on the day we had a 6am start. Excellent stay!
