On arrival at the Hotel was a total put off . Firstly the young receptionist couldn't find our reservation, then requested proof of confirmation through emails sent by trip. Then requested proof of identification either a passport or drivers licence. Then asked if she could take a photocopy of my drivers licence which I agreed , but should have said no as I now would like to know what's going to happen to this information. The room was nice bed was very comfy. Breakfast was lovely young friendly welcoming staff.
Had a great stay. Joined friends for 2 nights. Staff were so welcoming and friendly particularly those in the dining room where we dined both nights. Food was excellent. Our room was very comfortable and spotless. We appreciated the complimentary water, tea & coffee etc.in our room. Used the spa/ pool which was lovely but the overflow grills around pool and jacuzzi are dangerous and made us uncomfortable, need reinforced perhaps?
I choose Radisson because I was previously their happy customer elsewhere.
This time, when I arrived after a long car drive, I was initially disappointed for the location (noisy ?) and the external appearance (small ?).
It turned out I was wrong (don’t judge the book from the cover…): the hotel had just been fully refurbished, with clean, quite and modern rooms full of all the necessary amenities (I chose a superior one). Good Wi-Fi.
The hotel was fully booked but the staff - obviously very well trained - properly managed the situation. I never had a sensation of distress anyhow.
Good and varied breakfast.
I also had the chance to use their restaurant, good meals, reasonable prices, no issues.
Definitely recommended, I will come back.

GGuest UserWe had booked a courtyard room but were upgraded to a Deluxe double which was huge and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was fantastic and the bed and linens excellent. We even had a turndown service which we did not expect. We ate in the bar and the food and cocktails were excellent.Breakfast was also excellent and we are hard to please!!!!! The spa is lovely but would benefit from a covered walkway from the hotel as it was raining the whole time we were there. In general we would thoroughly recommend this hotel and will stay again.Very friendly and pleasant staff.

GGuest UserThis hotel is starting to look tired in respect to decoration in some areas. The photos on the wall look good.
The venue appears to facilitate weddings, and the view from the reception room is good. however this appears to be the best feature.
The main concern is silver fish in the bedroom. When we spoke to staff offered another room however at 2:30 am no realistic. When I spoke with reception in the morning there was a blase stating that it is a water front hotel. breakfast was adequate how hot food not as good as cold selection.

Overall experience was top , highly recommend this place and the town.
AAnonymous UserBreakfast times are over to early, checking out should be at least 12 noon especially at weekends. Room quite comfortable, staff very nice. Overall the Abbey is a great hotel and location but would need a revamp as the corridors leading to bedrooms are a bit shabby .
