China Train Booking Tips

China Train Booking Tips | Shenzhen North Railway Station

Follow these tips to guarantee a smooth and effective China train booking process!

  • Book early. High-speed rail, especially for popular routes, sells out fast. Peak seasons (Lunar New Year & National Week in Oct) require booking 30 + days ahead.
  • Know seat classes better. Second class is the cheapest, first class has wider seats, while business class has premium service (like reclining beds) but at 2-3x cost.
  • Be familiar with the facilities on the train. For high-speed rail, find most of the power outlets under the seats. Scan QR code to order food or any other services (WeChat/Alipay). Or you can buy from the trolley or the dining car.
  • Book a soft sleeper for overnight trains. It saves time and hotel costs.
  • Travel with Trip.com for English and foreign card support.
  • Download Amap or Baidu Maps to find exits or platforms (English-supported).

The moment you step into the Forbidden City, the red walls and yellow tiles, imbued with six hundred years of history, rush towards you. Every brick and tile between the halls carries the warmth of history. Walking slowly along the central axis, you can witness the grandeur of the imperial architecture and feel the everyday life of bygone days in the details. Even in the height of summer when there are many tourists, finding shade under the trees to watch the corner towers reflected in the clear water instantly brings a sense of peace. It's a cultural feast that you absolutely cannot miss when visiting Beijing.

A very atmospheric place. It's best to go early in the morning and plan your route carefully, making sure not to enter from Tiananmen Square. The walk takes about four hours.

It's very convenient; just use your passport to get through the ticket gate. It's best to go early to avoid long queues, and note that the Forbidden City closes on Mondays.

There were no problems organizing the visit. We arrived at the designated time slot and began our tour. The palace itself is quite interesting, from an engineering perspective, but extremely empty and austere. It's definitely worth a visit, but be prepared for huge crowds, which can be extremely tiring.

Everything is clean! It looks like it's brand new. The park is in excellent condition! The fireworks are top-notch. We bought the Carefree package. We skipped the lines. While everyone was still watching the fireworks, we left and went on two more rides. There weren't any crowds at all. I definitely recommend it! I was as happy as a kid myself.

Shanghai Disneyland is really one of the most experiential, efficient and fun places to be in, compared to the other disneylands and universal studios. We were lucky to have the early bird entry (thanks to the stay over at the Toy Story Hotel) and this gave us a one-hour head start to the rides and meet & greets. As a hotel guest, you gain entry via the side exclusive priority entrance, which leads you straight into disneyland without needing to join the queues at the main entrance. Many of the rides were focused on using CG graphics, 3D animations, projection screens to provide an elevated experience. And the 10th year anniversary 20-mins fireworks was the wonderful dessert to end off a fun full-day of excitement.

A day well spent at Disneyland! The kiddos had so much fun despite the light drizzle. Lots of rides, fast-moving queues, and much shorter waiting times compared to back home. Definitely worth the visit! 🎢🏰💕

A really cool park! I highly recommend visiting the Zootopia zones, the Tron slide, Rex's Race, and the Pixar Adventurous Journey zone. These were the coolest places! 8 hours were enough for us to see everything, but you can come for the whole day. It's definitely worth a visit! We were there on Monday, and there were people, but relatively few.

I really enjoyed it, but there's a height restriction for children: they must be at least 1.3 meters tall and weigh at least 25 kilograms. Adults must be no heavier than 90 kilograms. At the end of the day, the park hosted a mini concert show with lights, fountains, and more, which was very well done. Throughout the day, performers tour the park and also put on performances. Overall, it's a must-see.

Watching snow fall on the mountains and forests in winter is a pure and beautiful experience for winter travel. Snowflakes land one by one on the branches and on the grass, turning the entire mountain white. Even the sounds become quiet, except for the crunching sound of footsteps on the snow. Walking slowly along the mountain path, snow settles on your shoulders and hair. The air is crisp and clean, and the whole world is pristine white. It's as if all unhappiness is covered by the snow, and your heart becomes cleansed as well.
