China Train Booking Tips

China Train Booking Tips | Shenzhen North Railway Station

Follow these tips to guarantee a smooth and effective China train booking process!

  • Book early. High-speed rail, especially for popular routes, sells out fast. Peak seasons (Lunar New Year & National Week in Oct) require booking 30 + days ahead.
  • Know seat classes better. Second class is the cheapest, first class has wider seats, while business class has premium service (like reclining beds) but at 2-3x cost.
  • Be familiar with the facilities on the train. For high-speed rail, find most of the power outlets under the seats. Scan QR code to order food or any other services (WeChat/Alipay). Or you can buy from the trolley or the dining car.
  • Book a soft sleeper for overnight trains. It saves time and hotel costs.
  • Travel with Trip.com for English and foreign card support.
  • Download Amap or Baidu Maps to find exits or platforms (English-supported).

We consider this a must-see place in Beijing. We bought a ticket on Trip.com, and everything went wonderfully. We also walked around the Forbidden City ourselves. It's very interesting, with a lot of information inside. We translated it using Yandex Translate, and there's information in Russian too.

Beautiful place with a great history! It’s the peak attraction of Beijing, so prepare for a lot of people and longer lines. But it’s absolutely worth it! Photos don’t do the atmosphere any justice. Walking around makes you travel back in time.

Book 2 weeks in advance. Received a confirmation email 7 days before arrival. Upon arrival, queued to enter using passport scanning. No tickets needed, so don't worry about them. The walk doesn't take long; half a day is enough. The weather was cool.

It's a great water park, our family and friends were delighted with it. There are lots of different slides and attractions, we went everywhere. We really liked the artificial 'river' with waves, we rode around it a few times. There's a beach, there was a concert with musicians and singers, overall the visit was great.

This is by far the most fun water park I've ever been to! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Guangzhou. There are so many fun rides, including the roller coaster, vertical limit, and loudspeaker, all highly recommended. The only downside is that it can be very crowded; during the summer, the line for one ride can take at least two hours. Also, you have to pay extra for the rafting, but other water parks usually offer these rides for free, so it's up to you to decide if you really need them.
