Although only a short 10 minute ride, the views headed up were stunning and best seated on right side of tram to see the city down below. If this is missed, fret not as the views at the peak itself is breathtaking and many pics can be taken then. There are trails, viewing points and shopping activities at the peak. Public bus service is available if one purchases a single way tram ticket. Journey via bus downhill is pleasant and takes about 40 minutes.

If you’re late go straight to the cashier right behind the station entrance and change your ticket for the next train. You should also consider that the staff is very slow and almost rude so be ready. And one more thing: you cannot buy or change the ticket to the train that departs in less than 20 minutes. Every minute counts in Badaling train station. (We’ve been to more that 10 cities during this trip and this kinda rule was only in Badaling and I guess Beijing).
