Hostels in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan

The hostel is located on the second floor of an apartment building. The room is very new and overall very comfortable and very clean with a cozy lobby. Compared to other youth hostels I stayed in, there were particularly many Western tourists carrying large hiking bags. Since the business district of Odawara City is concentrated around the station, there are few restaurants and supermarkets near the hostel, and there are no washers and dryers provided. It takes you approximately 8 minutes to walk to the laundry and the centered area of the city. But overall it is still very comfortable, and it is recommended for solo travelers! 旅館位於一棟公寓2樓，房間非常新且整體很舒適、非常乾淨，大廳很舒服。相比於我住的其他青年旅館，背著大登山包的西方旅客特別多。 由於小田原市的商圈比較集中在車站一代，旅館附近比較少餐廳和超市，也沒有附設洗烘衣機，需要走路8分鐘到洗衣店。但整體還是很舒服，推薦獨旅旅客來居住！

People who complain about neighbourhood are partially right, because it's indeed not the best (a lot of cheap hostels there). But actually, it is still safe. (It is Japan!) And yes, you get a WHOLE ROOM, and not just a capsule like in another hostels. A young girl like me was completely okay and nothing bad happened during my four days stay there. The staff is friendly. I walked through all the Yokohama by feet, so you can say it's pretty near the city centre

The guesthouse is adorable and you couldn't as for a better location in enoshima right between the katase and enoden trains walking to the beaches and islands. The rooms are small and basic but the AC works and the beds are comfy. I will definitely stay here again

A good clean and cozy hostel to stay in Yokohama Chinatown area. Owner is helpful and friendly..Speak a little Chinese but that's OK. Fluent in English matters more. Not advisable to bring big luggage here as for most cases of hostel stay in Japan.

この様なタイプは、初めてでしたが段々とよくなりました。 ただ階段が、足には大変でした 疲れて爆睡しました。

It is very close to the station and Hasedera Temple. But it feels like the only advantage. The dormitory has an iron bed without even a bed curtain. Not only is it very noisy, but the mattress is also very thin. It feels like you are sleeping directly on the iron frame, and you feel very uncomfortable when you wake up. I have to wait until all my roommates come back before I can turn off the lights and go to bed. Unfortunately, the last person to come back last night didn’t even turn off the lights, which disturbed my sleep. The toilet was not very clean and had moths. This is probably the worst youth hostel experience. I feel like the business owner doesn't run the business with any care. Most services require additional charges, such as toothbrushes, towels, slippers and luggage storage.

Had a bad experience staying here…when one of the lady staff came to us and told us to refrain from talking…at that time no information or signage to say we shall not talk at the Living area from 9pm….until next morning then she put up the sign and information …kind of disappointed…but the Guy stafff was really very helpful when I extended my stay

A wonderful experience at Asante Inn in Hakone This stay at Asante Inn in Hakone was full of surprises! The Japanese-style garden is full of Japanese Zen, and it is super beautiful to take pictures. The owner is enthusiastic and fluent in English. The African artworks in the store are unique and come from his African experience. The stories are super interesting. Staying in dorm, you will meet travelers from all over the world. The atmosphere is good, and the price is 1200 yen per night, which is very cost-effective. Breakfast and dinner are about 1200 yen, and they are delicious and authentic. You can also make an appointment for private time to soak in the hot springs, which is private and comfortable. There is also a luggage transportation service at Yumoto Station, which is super considerate. I sincerely recommend coming here to experience a different Hakone trip!

Had a wonderful stay at Hare-Tabi! I don’t speak Japanese but the staffs were so helpful using body language + translator to make everything happen! Unlike other capsule hotels where you only have a bed size area to yourself, Hare-Tabi allows you with a bit storage/ leg room next to the bed! Not to mention about their free sauna service included in your package ! It provides the best relaxation before/after a day of exploration around Yokohama China town. You will find some quiet time to yourself using their services here. I’m sure you will enjoy the stay or even purely just the sauna service here!

The location is very convenient to Enoshima, and you can also store your luggage. I stayed for two days and went to Enoshima three times lol. Very very good, met a lot of interesting people in the public space, great!! Will stay again!
