TiancaixinsunpiangengI initially thought this was a good trip, but the breakfast situation really soured it for me. On our last night, we had an early flight the next day, so we went to the restaurant at 6:50 AM to try and eat early. Even though some food was already out, the restaurant's front desk refused us, citing 'rules' (the day before, there were already people eating at 7:00 AM). Okay, I respect the rules. But then, at 7:10 AM, there was still a lot of food not put out yet. Are *you* following your own rules?
Also, the air conditioning unit outside the room on the 5th floor was quite noisy. Something to watch out for.

Anonymous UserThe apartment is in a great location, close to the Airbus station, with plenty of good restaurants nearby that stay open late. The only downside is that it's close to the railway, so it can be a bit noisy at times.
We also found a bandage on one of the quilts when we arrived, which did not belong to us. It would be appreciated if the cleanliness and inspection of the bedding could be improved.

Guest UserThe first 3 times, everything was great. This time, on my 4th stay, everything had changed. On the first night of check-in, the room wasn't prepared as requested (I asked for 2 beds) and wasn't arranged. I had to sleep and then they arranged the 2 beds the next day. I requested a room on the 8th floor or higher, or the 5th floor, but was given a premium room on the 3rd floor. They informed me that currently, all 2-bed rooms are only available from the 3rd floor downwards (I used to stay in 2-bed rooms on the fourth floor and above). The car horns were very loud. The bathroom fan wasn't working. The room floor wasn't vacuumed. The bedside table, telephone, and lamp were all dusty, even though I had informed them that I am allergic to dust and asked for it to be cleaned before check-in. My throat started itching as soon as I entered. Honestly, if they had cleaned the dust before I checked in as requested, the room would have been fine. Now there's no complimentary water in the room (guests have to buy a hotel bottle and fill it themselves at the water dispenser). There weren't enough towels for two people in the bathroom. I called to request them, and the staff gave me a free water bottle because I refused to buy one. The bottle quality was poor, the water still leaked even with the cap closed, so I couldn't take it with me outside. I checked out on 7/7 and checked in again for 7-15/7 since I had already booked, staying in the same room. I reported the issues, but they were indifferent, so I told the housekeeper myself to vacuum the room, and she did. The good part is: in summary, for a room costing over 4,000 baht a night, guests have to buy a bottle to fill water themselves (other guests, I got a free bottle because I refused to buy. If it was a Starbucks bottle, it might have been interesting). *If the room price is this high, and the premium room is considered the largest, then the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors are noisy and shouldn't be offered. It's a waste of money if you can't get a full night's rest, especially on Friday-Sunday weekends when there are many tourists, car horns, and revving engines are very loud (3-6/7 I slept on and off). *The good parts are: the breakfast the hotel provides is plentiful and constantly refilled, it's close to Paramount, only a 10-minute walk for dinner, and the hotel front isn't crowded, making convenient for pick-up and drop-off. I recommend that guests staying on weekends request high floors.

Anonymous UserLocation: easy 3-6 min walk to Southern Cross station and the skybus station which made reaching the hotel from melbourne airport extremely convenient (~40 mins). It's close to many cozy and prolific cafés for breakfast/brunch, lunch. Ease of access to gift shops, electronics, and post boxes as well.
Amenities: Gym is available. Laundry with washers and dryers are also available but prepare coins.
Security: Staffed during the day, and the automatic doors in the main hotel entrance could only be opened with keycards at night. Good safety.
Service: Hospitable staff. Had issues with my room and they were happy to assist.
Room: I booked the single room. Quaint and tiny. Room's very dark and quiet at night. Great sleep. Bathroom is equipped with heat lamps and exhaust fans which made super comfortable for a winter stay. Didn't use the AC much but I tried it out just to see that it worked. Runs well even though it's a bit noisy if you're sleeping. Towels and sheets mostly clean. I noticed some stains on the bedding once but otherwise good.

Guest UserThe hotel room is in an excellent location, right across from Southcross train station, making it very convenient for getting around. There's a river just two blocks away, and all the tall buildings are nearby. No deposit is required for check-in, and the front desk setup is quite interesting, resembling a bank counter.

Guest UserThis hotel doubles as a student accommodation, and as a University of Melbourne student, it's been my home in Melbourne for a long time. When I returned to Melbourne later, I chose to stay here again. I absolutely love it… Melbourne is truly an amazing and incredibly livable city, and this hotel is fantastic!
The front desk staff are all incredibly patient, kind, warm, and thoughtful – truly wonderful people. Talking to them feels so refreshing. They try their best to accommodate room requests during check-in; some rooms face the street, while others are quieter and face inwards. You can hear activity in the hallways, so it’s much better to stay away from the elevators. The soundproofing between units is excellent; I lived here for half a year and never heard a peep from my neighbors.
The location is superb!!! The tram stop is right outside, which is incredibly convenient. Lincoln Square is just next door, perfect for fresh air, watching pigeons and seagulls, and enjoying the treehouse and fountain – very chill. Ordering takeout is also easy with many options nearby. There are also small restaurants and cozy bars in the vicinity.
I really like the Thai place diagonally across the street, I think it’s called Ohsc; I find their food quite good. On weekdays, a noodle dish for lunch is only $15, and adding a Thai milk tea makes for a perfectly satisfying meal. I also enjoy ordering takeout from 'Weishang Hunan' and 'Yixiangren'. Oh, and 'Dodee Thai' at Melbourne Central is also delicious.
There are many Asian supermarkets nearby: an Asian convenience store to your left and an Ezymart to your right, with 'Asian Daddy' just a three-minute walk away. Larger supermarkets like Aldi, Coles, Woolworths, Big W, and Kmart are about a 10-minute walk or three to four tram stops away at Melbourne Central. In short, everything is very convenient! The roads are mostly flat too, with no hills to climb, so it’s very relaxing and comfortable!
Many famous attractions are within walking distance: the University of Melbourne, Carlton Gardens, Flagstaff Gardens, Queen Victoria Market, Melbourne Central, State Library Victoria, Chinatown, Flinders Street Station, the Yarra River, and the NGV art gallery, among others. I can’t even remember all of them, but you can basically get to most places. I often go for walks. Or taking the tram right outside is also very convenient! It’s also very close to the train station! Melbourne is truly a beautiful and livable city, my eternal utopian 'white moonlight'.
Moreover, this hotel is on Swanston Street, which is a very safe street. You might encounter homeless people in the city center or on Elizabeth Street, but I haven't seen any outside here. It feels like many residents are students, and it's quite safe at night. Since this hotel is also student accommodation, many University of Melbourne students live here, which I find very secure. You need to use your key card to access the elevators, and also to enter the hotel main entrance at night.
The rooms are decent, though a bit small. The air conditioning sometimes doesn’t work well and you might need to inform the front desk to adjust it. There’s a small fridge and a hairdryer. Overall, the hygiene is good, but the duvet cover… it's not a cover that fully encloses the duvet, I'm not sure how it's arranged. If this bothers you, it's best to bring a disposable sleeping bag or something similar. For this price point, it's really good! I wholeheartedly recommend it!
As for common areas, there's a kitchen on the ground floor with a microwave, oven, fridge, gas stove, and a large dining table. If I order takeout and can’t finish it, I’ll reheat it in the microwave for the next meal. The washing machines are charged for student accommodation residents – I think it's $5 to wash and $5 to dry? I’m not sure if hotel guests are charged. Overall, the entire apartment hotel is very cozy. I have a deep affection for this place; it’s my lifelong love affair with Australia!

ErableMy stay at YEHS Hotel Melbourne was excellent. The location is very convenient, with easy access to public transport, restaurants, shops, and popular attractions. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it a great place to relax after a day of exploring the city.
The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with any questions. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free. I also appreciated the hotel’s quiet atmosphere and comfortable bed, which made for a good night’s sleep.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at YEHS Hotel Melbourne and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, affordable, and conveniently located place to stay. I would be happy to stay here again on my next visit to Melbourne.Trending Searches
