|0.51km from city centerVery happy with this hotel. Easy self check in, good location in the Old Town, very helpful manager (Cristian) who I met briefly. He also responded very promptly on WhatsApp to several questions and gave advice when I asked. Room comfortable and clean, on 2nd floor (I think all the rooms are upstairs, on 1st, 2nd or 3rd floors) but there's no lift - I think help is available for carrying luggage if you ask in advance. Location is in a very busy, lively and noisy area especially at night (Friday/Saturday until around 4am!), but with the window closed the double glazing and extra soundproofing sliding screen worked very well, although I used earplugs too to get a good night's sleep, and would recommend this. Air-conditioning unit very effective and quiet. Shower good. Limited quantities of soap/shower gel/shampoo provided (sachets) but room made up daily and more available on request. A bottle of water was provided each day. Plenty of power sockets and decent amount of clothes storage. No restaurant or bar but plenty in the immediate surroundings. I stayed for 6 nights and the hotel is an excellent location for exploring Bucharest- a fascinating city. Thank you Christian for a great stay!

|1.41km from city centerA great place to have a quiet room, plenty of coffee and a large breakfast in the morning close to no 5 and no 16 trams and 220 metres from the Zepplin Pub! The four of us sharing has twin rooms on the 2nd (203) and 4th floors of the 6 floor hotel, The receptionists were very good and helpful and spoke good English. The shower and bathroom were spotlessly clean.

|1.34km from city centerAttended this hotel after booking due to lovely looking pictures. Was very disappointed on arrival. Firstly, the outside makes the hotel look awful, it’s situated above some shops and has a huge billboard attached to it. Once inside the lift is terrible and was shocked to find you had to manually close the doors. Once inside room found it to be very run down. Headboard was scratched severely and parts were broken, aircon was very outdated and looked dirty, wardrobe didn’t shut properly and a couple of other issues. The main issue though was definitely the bathroom. On *********** no pictures of bathrooms are shown and it is obviously why. They are horrible. They’re so outdated, sink was stained, toilet sloped, shower and bath were horrible with a nasty shower curtain (looked so bad I didn’t even use it). Will say the bathroom looked clean but it was so stained and old I felt dirty using it. One bonus was that sheets were clean which made the stay bearable for one night. But just be aware this hotel now looks nothing like the pictures advertised.

|1.67km from city centerLovely place to stay in the heart of Bucharest. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were outstanding. Loved the waiters. So funny and attentive. Front desk staff were perfect. Bell staff were helpful. Beds were comfortable and elevators worked well. My only complaint is a group of young men hang around outside the hotel. They seem to be there all the time. They followed us inside once when we were unloading luggage and equipment. It was a bit unnerving to have them leave their seats outside the hotel to follow us into the lobby. They only did that when we had equipment and bags in our hands.

|0.72km from city centerHotel location is wonderful - middle of the old city. Rooms are spacious enough but some of them are located over a street with a night club and are very noisy all night (especially lower floors) - this has to be mentioned at check in to relevant customers. Staff is very friendly and helpful - especially at reception. Rooms cleaning needs some improvement as some negligence showed and called for our intervention. Breakfast is great, large choice and comfortable dining room including outdoor seating Fitness center is quite small and at basement - could have been located on an upper floor facing the old city - would be wonderful

|2.92km from city centerUnfortunately we were informed in front of hotel that there are no parking left. In this area it is quite impossible to find a parking space. The very arrogant employee of the hotel sent us away and so we decided that this might not be the right place for us to stay the night....! We found a friendly hotel with parking in the area and had a nice stay.

|9.24km from city centerStopped here in a King Suite with my husband for 2 nights, visiting family and was seriously impressed. The room was bigger than most of the flats I've ever owned! Everywhwere was kept clean and we really liked the fact that there were sofas on each floor if you wanted to relax/have a drink/wait for lift. LOL, Not that we're lazy. Every member of staff we came into contact with were helpful, friendly and courteous. Don't expect a full English or American breakfast though, it's traditional fare. Everything we had was fresh and flavoursome - cold meats, salads, cheeses, etc. 10 minute walk to the metro and retail park. A fraction of the price of hotels in Bucharest and only 20 minutes on the metro into the city centre. Only 10 days to go before our next visit and cannot wait to get into the outdoor pool and top up our tans!

|1.19km from city centerGrand Hotel Continental is a great hotel in Bucharest. Rooms/beds were extremely comfortable; the restaurant/breakfast was very good; in house spa was great (Thai massage was incredibly refreshing); convenient location (easy walk to Old Town); and superb service (special shout out to Mihai at the front desk). Beautiful inside and outside. Thanks again so much for the great stay.

|1.78km from city centerThe hotel was budget accommodation. We were part of a Travel Marvel group who had completed a 3 day extension after a river cruise. Our tour guide was so embarrassed about the standard of the hotel she bought a box of tissues for each room the group used as the hotel does not supply them. There were no tea making facilities in the room or water supplied or available to buy.

|0.45km from city centerA gorgeous hotel, a convenient location in the old historic town, and very nice staff members. What could be wrong? Noise. Not just outdoor dining noise, but loud music from the bar next door. Our room overlooked the street and we closed the windows and the noise from the restaurants was adequately reduced until the terrible singer from the bar next door began to sing with his karaoke. After an hour I went downstairs to the receptionist to inquire whether or not we would be able to sleep that night, as it was impossible with the music pounding next door. She offered us earplugs, and advised that the music would stop before or at midnight. I inquired as to why a patron would not be warned about the noise from the bar before being assigned such a room, and she responded that all the review websites denote that the hotel is adjacent to restaurants, from which I guess that I was to surmise that this would entail excessive noise from the music at the bar next door. Silly me. My reply was that the restaurants were not the issue, it was the bar and the loud music. Once again, the only remedy offered was ear plugs. The music stopped around 11 pm (lucky for us!), and the next morning we presented our complaint to a different receptionist, who was appropriately apologetic, and immediately searched to see if we could move to a different room later in the day. Yes, a room was available, and we packed up our bags after breakfast, left them in the old room, and she had them moved to our new room while we were out for the day. Now that is the appropriate response and great customer service! Thank you!! Now the rooms that do not face the street all front the lobby. That night there was a large group of people who were traveling together and decided that the bar was just not sufficient for their merriment, so they all moved to the hotel lobby and lived it up until a late hour. It was not as bad as the music from the bar, but the hotel had complete control over this source of noise, but we had to wait again for the other patrons to break up on their own. It is really a shame. As I said, the staff members are really pleasant and helpful, except for the first receptionist whose only remedy was earplugs, and this is a nice facility otherwise. However, dear reader, you have now been adequately apprised as to the noise level from the bar next door. If you plan to stay out partying all night, which can be easily accomplished here, then this is your place. If you expect peace and quiet in your room and a good night’s sleep, then you need to look elsewhere.

|2.44km from city centerWhen I arrived at Hotel Tranzzit there was absolutely nobody manning the desk. Granted, it was around 11pm, but the website lists no set check-in time limit (just that it begins at 2pm). I waited around 45 mins for someone to show up, and the person who did arrive was not very friendly or communicative. After some back and forth I was told that they had no record of my booking — however I had just received a phone call from them the day before (no message left) so they definitely had my information. The night receptionist showed me the personal information of everyone else staying there to ask if I was staying with those guests, which seemed like a breach of privacy. He asked if I had paid yet, and I said no, but he gave me the keys and let me into the room without paying. Very strange check-in experience. Overall, the room was not bad. Unfortunately I was in the room directly beside reception and you can hear absolutely everything, so I was awoken every day by the phone ringing or people chatting. The daytime receptionists were very friendly although did not speak English, and I made sure to pay for my stay in the morning. My room had one large bed, a closet, a bathroom, a window to an outdoor seating area, and a television — although I never tried the TV as you could hear everything from the lobby and vice versa. No hot water on the first day but the second day was fine. Soap and shower gel is included in the bathroom. No fridge or kettle in the room but there is a kitchen. Breakfast is not included but one coffee per day is allowed if you ask the reception to prepare it. Wi-fi is uncharacteristically spotty for Romania and would connect and disconnect every minute or so. The great thing about this place is not only price but location. You are only around 8 mins from Gara de Nord and there is a laundromat on the way as well. Lots of Mega Image grocery stores nearby and even a nice park. Metro, etc. are all located conveniently. It's very easy to walk to the Old City and the area with the Atheneum. Overall, I didn't hate my stay here. It was a bit awkward and strange but the daytime receptionists were very sweet and feigned being impressed with my almost-non-existent Romanian, hahaha. I would stay here again for one or two nights if I was travelling by train.

There is a small convenience store next to the hotel that opens until 12 midnight.
However, wifi was not working on rooms in the second floor of the hotel for the entire day. Wi-Fi was fine on ground floor, and 3rd to 5h floors.
Level 2 seems to be under construction or having an industrial look compared to other floors.
Do take a look at the photos and see for yourself

|2.6km from city centerI stayed at Marshal Garden hotel for a 2-day business trip. The overall experience was pretty positive, the room was clean and modern, ambient lighting was pretty nice, bathroom was functional and WiFi performance was very good. I also liked breakfast, the selection of products was pretty decent and taste/freshness were good, too! It's also worth noting that breakfast is served on the 6th floor, allowing for nice panoramic views. The hotel itself is located in a pretty busy area and most landmarks are a few minutes away by taxi. I did choose to walk from the Bucharest North train station to the hotel and it took me roughly 25 minutes. On the downside, I was expecting that partially used shampoo and shower gel would be replenished, but it did not happen. I also noticed that housekeeping left my half empty coffee mug. For a hotel of its category, I would expect housekeeping to do a more meticulous job, but still this did not take anything away from the positive experience. Reception staff was very polite and helpful.

|0.53km from city centerExcellent location, located in the historic centre of Bucharest, rich in rooms and moved. The only sin is that you can hear the music of the rooms until the morning. Clean, spacious, well furnished room. Bathroom with hands sailing, bathroom and phone. They only change the bathing fabrics, the bed doesn't re-resort it. It doesn't even resort the toilet paper. Fridge in the room with two bottles of water in homage. We appreciated the machine with the capsules x the coffee in the room.

Relatively close to the shopping mall and subway. Rooms are clean and the service is good. If you need something you can always ask at the reception. |1.82km from city centerEasy check in. We booked a standard twin room which was very good for what we needed. The room was large with a fabulous bathroom, the shower was great , there was also a bidet. Toiletries are provided and replenished, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and shower cap. There were also bathrobes and slippers in the room. There is a mini bar and plenty of electrical sockets. We weren’t able to operate the safe but this didn’t spoil our stay. Breakfast was okay and you can get fruit, cereals, scrambled eggs etc, it is served in the basement. There was a fitness room which we didn’t use. On the fourth floor there is a rooftop sun terrace which contains a hot tub and sun loungers. The hotel is very clean and there are areas to charge your phone in reception. The hotel is about 15/20 minutes walk to the old town. You can also get a bolt which we found was affordable. We caught the 783 bus from the airport to the hotel for 52p!! They are very regular and it takes under an hour to get to the hotel. You can pay with contactless Mastercard or visa on the bus so no need to try and find out how to buy a ticket. A special thank you to Roberta at reception who was very helpful with a friendly attitude. The rest of the reception staff were not too friendly and some didn’t even smile to greet guests. Overall a great hotel.

For the same money I stayed in a 4 stars Crowne plaza...so if you want a room with a jacuzi ,working ac and quiet surroundings in the middle of Bucharest it's the right spot.

|1.67km from city centerThis hotel is super nice and a very chic place to stay. Fun to have a drink in the lobby and to have breakfast inside the restaurant. The rooms are very spacious they have like three separate rooms and they have a beautiful balcony overlooking the property. Staff was flawless hotel was very upscale. The only problem I have with this hotel is that the pool is very very small and I like to luxury ate and of huge swimming pool when I am on vacation and the pool here very small maybe only suitable for children or for someone who doesn't like to swim laps. I never took a dip in the pool and I changed hotels because I wanted a spa / swimming pool hot tub amenity for my vacation. If you were not into pools then this is the perfect place to stay. I got this room for $100 a night and that is truly a steal.

|1.04km from city centerWe stayed here with a group of people, we were all part of an organised tour. The room was clean & the breakfast good. However the hotel appeared to need finishing, a large open hole in the ceiling of the bedroom & also the electricity suddenly disappeared (although it did return fairly promptly for us.) However on the evening of our second stay they were obviously hosting a private event in the only bar area on the twelfth floor. We were refused entry & when we returned to reception on the ground floor, Improvement we were told to go out or request room service. At almost the same time a group of Romanian guests were offered drinks, naturally we objected to this & as a good will gesture they reluctantly offered us drinks. We were then asked to pay for them to which we all refused & after several phone calls they finally accepted this. My husband & I had a pre booked transfer to travel to the airport the following day. When my husband approached reception he was told he would have to pay them 370 leu & there was no such thing booked!! Our driver arrived on time & assured us it was booked & pre-paid & duly drove us to the airport. This is not an acceptable service for a 4star hotel, possibly there may be a language barrier/ misunderstanding or it could be lack of training & knowledge or even dishonesty. Which ever it was we would not be tempted to stay there again. Viv J.Norwich.UK

|1.36km from city centerI had the pleasure to experience the Hilton Doubletree Unirii Square in Bucharest as one of my very first hotel experience in Romania. The purpose was business combined with a surprise anniversary for my parents. At the check in weirdly enough my Maestro card did not work, however, Ana was very understanding and she even accommodated both rooms (my parents and I) with the best rooms in the hotel (personally a higher floor would be cool next time but I`m just picky that way). On my request and discretion, she also sent a bottle of house wine as a gift for my parents. Unfortunately, no cookies due to Covid19 regulations. :( The following day, the Government change some COVID19 rules applied upon restaurants and F&B outlets, therefore even though we were promised to have a full breakfast choice, to our shock we were given a quick-fix of a breakfast with all the necessities made by one other staff, Ionut. Being alone and having to fix everything, I expressed my preference for breakfast and my loyalty towards the company and I asked if it would be possible to make the breakfast a bit more complete by adding the juices and sweets from the mini-bar. Ionut being very friendly and understanding my point of view agreed to make our breakfast more enjoyable and I personally felt appreciated for my loyalty. With all the good experience, I decided to extend my stay. This procedure was hefty but Ionut stood by my side and helped me with all the information he knew and was as patient as humanly possible. Guess it was just a setting in my phone system. As my room was extended, the lovely ladies from housekeeping were as efficient and proficient as I would expect from a Hilton property. On our last day, my family and I encountered 2 lovely ladies (one at the bar which I forgot to ask her name and Cristina - from what I depict I think she might have been the Front Desk manager). These lovely ladies made our departure very pleasant and Cristina assured me that all is well and ready for my check-out (payment, rooms, departure time) - to my awe she surprised me with the minibar complimentary ( snacks and soft drinks) and I personally could not have been more happy! It was a good snack on the road, and up until this moment I am still munching on some of the (sweet) memories! Thank you once more guys, next time I come to Romania, expect my return to this property! All the best! Stay safe! Alex
