I’ve never written a review before. But I think that this hotel was so delightful (and reasonably priced), maybe I should. Best thing about the place? The cheerful staff. Especially Precious, in the breakfast room, who anticipated our every need — with a smile. And Iago (spelling?), the bartender, was amazing. Loved it here.

The location of the hotel is absolutely in the city center. The room is spacious and beautiful. It is a pleasure to sit on the balcony and watch the canal. The service is superb. The old doorman is a gentleman, and the receptionist is very polite. The bathroom is large, and the bedding in the room is superb, very comfortable. It gets dark at half past ten in the summer here, and the beautiful bells echo in the night sky. Special reminder: This hotel can check out at 4 pm.

We are staying at the Intercontinental hotels as our main hotel and have been most impressed. Our stay at the Amstel was so pleasant! The staff was absolutely amazing, every person we encounter was so helpful and kind. It is impossible to single out anyone as each team member was great. We ate at the hotel all of our meals except one and the food and service were perfect. We were so grateful that although the afternoon tea was full they were able to accommodate us in another beautiful location where our view was spectacular. We are in hotels 150 nights a year and our experience at the Amstel was one of the very best. The staff members were such nice quality people. They thanked us for allowing them to provide assistance to us. We were so humbled by the generosity of the hotel staff. While dining everyone pitches in and help one another and whatever we could want was provided immediately. Thank you very much with complete sincerity and gratitude. The management should be commended for encouraging such terrific service. We look forward to our next visit to Amsterdam and staying at the Amstel.

The location is fantastic, the ground station is the ground station, only 4 stops from the central station. Downstairs are all restaurants and bars, food quality is not bad, many attractions can actually be reached on foot, although the room is on the street, but the sound insulation is quite good, the counter staff is very cordial and polite, much worse than Paris! The hotel is quite close to the central train station. It is also close to the Chinatown, the Rembrandt museum, the restaurants, and other touristy places. The staffs are friendly and helpful. There is a small restaurant on the first floor. There are also a small shelves with snacks and drinks behind the receptionist, so it’s quite convient to get some midnight snacks. The room has a nice size and it is very clean. The decoration is quite playful and modern similar to other Ibis hotel. The price is good for the location and the size of the room. However, the room is not very sound proof. It’s easy to hear the sound coming from other rooms and form the corridor. At this time, Holland does not require the mask anymore inside the hotel so it’s nice to feel back to how it was before the pandemic.

Hotel location was good as it is in the central area to almost all activities that we went. But however, hotel room service did not help us to empty our toilet trash bin every single day despite that we gave tips everyday, so I'm not sure how clean exactly is their room service. Bring extra cash for hotel tax and deposits as we were only told on the 1st night of checking in when the recept call up to our room to ask us to go to the reception to pay for our hotel tax and deposit, where only the deposits will be refunded upon checking out if you did not consume their in-room beverages or destroy their hotel etc. Hotel location is very near to 2 super mart, and also the ******** coffee shop, cafe and restaurants, not very convenient for kids as every where smells of ********. Breakfast was super good spread, large varieties, we love it.

Given the reviews, I was not keen to stay here, but thanks to Ajax v Napoli there were no others available. To sum up, this isn't a 5 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It is a 3 star hotel. Positives: - Location is superb - Architecturally stunning building - Large room (in my case, at least) - WiFi speeds are good. I was able to do video meetings from my room - Staff were pleasant and friendly Negatives: - Inside, the hotel is dark and in a state of disrepair - The kitchen closes early, and room service appears to not be possible. I was told that I should download Uber Eats if I wanted food after 10pm. - The room is tidy, but basic areas like around the sinks, bath, windows and TV were dirty - There is a smell of sewage that comes from the shower drain - The majority of channels on the TV are unavailable - There is no air conditioning. I had 2 tower fans in my room, and I had to use them both just to stay cool - No help with luggage, not that I couldn't manage myself - You get a bottle of water on the table when you check in. I had some the first night because it was so hot in the room. The second night when I was working late, I turned to open my fresh bottle. Nope! Same half empty bottle, had just been moved back to the table again. This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel! Stay somewhere else. A few weeks earlier, I stayed in the Sofitel Legend. THAT is a 5 star hotel.

Excellent location, could walk to every “tourist” place. . Plenty of restaurants and bars right outside the doors! The breakfast at the hotel was great with lots of options and the staff very accommodating! Pastry chef is outstanding..deserves a raise!! Croissants the lightest fluffiest ever! Everything tastes as good as it looks! Front desk staff very nice, Sarah went out of her way to “fix” a minor problem and continued ask if everything was ok each time she saw us. Rooms clean and roomy, beds comfortable would stay again if ever in Amsterdam and recommend this hotel to anyone who asks! Transportation from airport is a little pricey (taxi for 4 ..70-100 euros depending on traffic ) but once you are there no need to use again.

We spent three nights at the Eden in a superior double room, the room was clean and comfy, the bed very comfortable. Our room was nice and quiet (think it was somewhere in the middle of the hotel, the view out of our window was a fire escape!) Checking in was pretty easy, you do it yourself but there are staff to help (beware the extra tourist tax that gets added on when you check in, an extra €50!) We didn’t eat at all at the hotel so can’t comment on food. The staff were friendly and helpful. All in all a great hotel choice, did the job very nicely as a base from where to explore the city. Very highly recommended.

The location is really good, you can see a great view on the rooftop. The hotel is also very serviced and has a high-end youth hostel and hotel apartment configuration. The bed is very big and can sleep for the next three girls. Really love the roof, whether it is sunrise or sunset is a good place to take pictures. Me and my partner stayed here for the weekend we were in room 7 a double bedroom, had a really nice private bathroom, however it is at the front of the hotel and it is smack bag in the central so if you’re not a party person I wouldn’t get a front room as it’s rather loud at night. You get what you pay for basically The only thing that we weren’t happy about was the fact that the room doesn’t have a kettle and the drinks machine down stairs was free when we got 2 the hotel and then Sunday afternoon it said we have 2 pay for the drinks and it was €2 for hot water let alone the other drinks they offered, that’s not acceptable if your not going to provide a kettle and essentials in the rooms. so was very disappointed with this as who doesn’t like a nice cup of tea in the evening.

I booked a river view room, the river view is very beautiful, open the window, you will feel the world is very beautiful! This is a small hotel, by the canal, the room area is not big, it is a small sparrow, it has all the internal organs, anyway, the facilities are not new, the toilet is relatively simple, it can only be considered barely acceptable. . The uncle at the front desk was pretty good, and I couldn't see it on the TV. There is nothing else to say. When I stayed at 1,000 yuan a night, the price/performance ratio was not high compared to the youth hostel I stayed in later.

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. Very basic room, which we then had to move from because the bathroom light wasn’t working. We were then moved to the very top floor, which had a lovely view and a nice bathroom. However, there weren’t even bedside tables next to the beds or table lamps or anything. Bed was actually really comfortable though. Bathroom was lovely, lots of room however the shower was a slight poor design as the floor got soaked whenever you had a shower. Safe in our room was broken, which isn’t ideal when you’re on holiday and have valuables. People at the desk were nice and helpful. Very basic hotel, but clean and felt safe there. The outside noise on the street at night is very loud as there is a restaurant with outdoor seating right next door, so if you are sensitive about that sort of thing then I wouldn’t necessarily recommend. The location is excellent, truly the best part of this hotel. Literally everything is within walking distance!! Loved this part and so glad we chose this hotel for the location. Pros and cons to this hotel, but overall nothing serious to complain about, especially for the price we paid. Would stay here again for a short stay.
